Ronald Koeman

tbh, Koeman could be the victim of his own success.
No one expected us to win Liga, everybody wanted to see a youth transition.
He did that quit well tbh, but he knew that he still needed to deliver results here and that is when he drifted to the veterans more than he should.

Not really tbh, more like nobody expected AM to have this drop after stacking up so many points in the first half of the season. Let's not forget that we were shit for 1/3 of the season.

Yes messi240, I have exactly the same opinion like you. Koeman should have noticed way before their first goal that Umtiti and Sergi Roberto are completely out of game. He should have subs them beforehand. This was Koeman huge mistake which will cost us the title.
I am convince that if Coutois was in our goalie he might not have taken both goals. Van ter stegen is not at the level of Coutois and this plays a huge roll in overall angrenage of Real Madrid.
Unfortunately, is not the first time when Koeman did not react quickly. He always make in the last minutes changes when you cannot change too much. Sorry guys, I already said that to me, Koeman is not the right couch for Barca. I hope that I will be wrong but many times this coach convinced me of contrary. Let's hope that we will be lucky enough but very skeptical.

Barca is always expected to fight for the tittle. Only after historical bad start, people wanted a better youth transition.

Just like you mention above, Laporta said there is no transition, it is win or lose. Pep said something similiar.

This is Barcelona after all, weakened but not Ac Milan level.

Pep said before his first season 'I don't know if we are going to win any trophies, but I promise you we will play entertaining football'
Needless to say if you don't give time to a coach building attacking-minded football because you want results RIGHT NOW, then you will never gonna see results and trophies as well

People here please...
You are at Barcaforum and there are some values associated with this club.
Football values like playing decent to the eye football.
Yes trophies are important but not at the expense of football played.
That's why it was insufferable to have Valverde as a Barca coach -> guy corrupted the mentality of this club. Winning via defensive and loser-mentality football.

That should never be acceptable at Barca
If you crave only results, then support current RM or Juve or Man UTD.
There are clubs for all tastes..

And Pep said recently something like there is no such thing called project: "For all managers - you have to win. People talk about projects, but they don't exist, you have to win or you'll be sacked,"

It is win or lose. The winner take it all. Even more in big club. Everyone would slay Pep if he fail vs PSG next week.

Go support Arsenal. And never complain about result again. Feel happy with "we have no tittle or result but we have style".

A better defender stops Soldado before he even has chance to turn and feed Machis. Also, Dest for sure would have made up enough ground to challenge Machis.

Yh pretty much. In that sequence of that goal almost our defense and GK got folded (Umtiti ,Mingueza , Roberto and Mats)

Earliest CL exit since 2007, first time we lost both Clasicos since 2008, first time we dont win our CL group since 2006, most league defeats since 2008, and at best our second lowest points total since 2008. :koeman:

Can't argue with that. Also, I feel this whole 'youth development' card is overplayed. It may very well be that Koemman didn't have other options than to play some of the youngsters.

And most of the youngsters didn't confirm shit. Take Minguenza for example. People were raving in here all season at how good this guy is, already doing stupid comparisons. When in fact Mingueza is lower tier La Liga level at best.

Ask yourself we can legit win the league but for some reason, you have to fuck everything up and play a couple of players who were either out for a long while and players that have shown this season that they don't deserve any minutes.

Who in their right mind decides to play Fucking Sergi Roberto, a guy who was had Covid and a couple of lengthy injuries and had been out since the first half of the season in this crucial stretch of games and not even bother to sub him out when it was clear he is so off the pace and Umtiti a guy who has cost us points all season when he played most of the time.

My opinion on the Roberto/Dest shit is simple, It's chickenshit mentality by Koeman. Dest hasn't been great but decided to bench him in favor of Roberto who had been out for a long while and nowhere near up to standard in these crucial games shows how naive Koeman really is and we paid the fucking price for this nonsense shit.

Shit like this costs us trophies and it will probably even cost him his job.

Doesn't matter. Club is in transition. People can abuse Koeman all they want the fact is there are factors here beyond his control. Like us being fucking broke and unable to buy players. So we have to look at the free agent market. Also the squad is unbalanced and shit. Any manager would have struggled here.
Also who at we going to hire?
Laporta was mouthing off about Naglesman and Klopp but we know that's not going to happen.
So where does this leave us? If we change manager next season it has to be with a long term view. That's the only way we will have a stable, long term project that actually has a chance of success. At the moment there is too much chopping and changing.
