I don't think that's it. He could've been a success (many thought he had been just a couple of weeks ago) at Barcelona anyway, despite his poor CV.
I didn't follow him closely before Barcelona. I thought he was a bit shit already after 5 games or so, and thought it was obviously clear at least some time before christmas. I know I don't have insight, but from what I saw in the games, I thought it looked as if he made things harder for the players by making shit decisions.

Seasons end has shown our level. I was supportive of Koeman for a long while but we're not going to realistically get better than this even with the mooted 3/4 free transfers being added.

Lost the league last week versus Granada, then play so passive, slow and second best at home against Atletico Madrid. We made them look good. Only chance creation through set pieces.

Hindsight is wonderful but the big mistake was not taking top managers when we decided to sack Valverde and then Setien. Lost the opportunities of Pocchetino and then Tuchel. Now if Koeman goes who is on the market?

Marcelo Gallardo's choripans and BBQs? Tried that already with Tata.

Once Messi leaves this is really an end of an era and an extremely scary time for Barcelona. Record debt levels and potentially being out of Europe due to clinging to the ESL sinking ship.

Koeman gave us an extremely memorable roller coaster of a run in the Copa Del Rey and we can remember his year fondly for that. Just as he done similar with Valencia.

Besides there's a clause in his contract where the new President can release him from his contract. Koeman knew what he signed up for.

He should have accepted our offer a few years ago.

Just shut the hell up with Valverde. The guy was a stooge too. You're talking like we let go of Klopp or Pep. Sacking Valverde was the right thing to do. Barto making shit apointment after shit appointment doesn't have anything to do with Valverde being a mediocre manager. Btw, The Dutch NT should take Koeman back if they can too. De Boer is going to fuck them up. With Koeman I actually believe they have an outside shot of winning the Euro.

He was a great NT Coach for them.

No, Valverde wasn't among the very best coaches in the world, but he was still better than the Betis-reject you hired as his replacement, by some distance.
