Ronald Koeman

Thanks for everything. Hopefully you told Laporta in your conversation that this team need to move on from multiple players.

Doubt it. He seems to like Pique, Roberto, Busi, even Umtiti. As you said, probably likes Coutinho very much.

Just not what we need. Not a terrible manager, but certainly a B-grade one made for teams like Villareal, Everton, Bilbao, basically a similar manager to Valverde, with a more abrasive personality and more leadership, but worse tactically probably.

I hope Laporta is wise, because the ball is in his court. What he does in the next year, starting with the summer is vital.

Thoughts on his tenure:

Don't know what to say about you Koeman. A period of 3-4 months of solid attacking Barca football. Other than that, too many ups and downs. The Blue ball season, as I call it, some very impressive matches and other decisions made me scratch my head. Why not utilize 5 subs earlier during matches knowing full well its a covid season with a lot of matches crammed in? Why rely on the same 2-3 subs every game? Why not adapt your tactics to the match? Why not play attacking football when you needed it the most (vs RM, vs PSG, vs ATM, etc.)? Were you afraid of their attacks? I mean you got dominated by PSG and RM when you played tentatively.

Overall it seemed like you had it figured out, but then you didn't. Why insist on starting Pique and Roberto when you had a good thing going on with Mingueza and Araujo? sure they made some dumb mistakes, but it doesnt help their confidence when you subbed them out as soon as the fuked up. Why didnt you do the same to Pique and Roberto?

Did the pressure get to you? The squad being pussies from Liverpool and Roma? Lots of questions to ask, but it's fair to say you are not the one to rebuild this squad or bring Barca back to greatness.

His pre-meditated subs are something else... We need to win and he changes Griezmann (who was invisible in the 2nd half, yes, but can still deliver in clutch moments as seen in Copa) and Dembele (who yes, is unpredictable and gives you mixed results, but terrorised Celta's defense on his flank today) for Braithwaite (apparently a striker, but can't position himself and can't finish to save his life) and Trincao (was he even on).

Not suoirsed considering his selections and tactics early in the season and with other clubs, luckily he learnt his lesson and changed formations. Think he takes too long to learn his lessons and is blind to how some players are

Only has himself to blame. The team showed enough for him to stay and then imploded in spectacular fashion.

I am kind of glad we crashed and burned like that instead of losing respectfully, this way there are just no excuses left.

Pretty much decided to give everyone minutes he's ignored in the last few months in the hope that something would happen

Things were looking "Good" before the last international break but bar that Copa win, holy fuck talk about sabotaging everything that made things click.

It all started when he decided to bring Pique and Roberto back into the fold even though they were in no shape and form to be playing in this crucial part of the season when they were out for long periods of time this season and it all spiraled out of control since then. Just his decisions have been utterly baffling, to say the least.

He's done here, I can't see him surviving after the season is over.

:rofl1: Looked like that.

Hey, I gave them minutes and we lost. That's why I didn't give them minutes before.

Really, the guy is a walking conflict, we need someone that is more constructive and uses all tools at his disposal, not someone that even creates conflicts where there isn't one. We have enough problems without having to worry about a manager making calls on whims and fixations.

Didn't see his face all game on the bench as I was multitasking between chats and work. Braithwaite and Trincao substitutions this season won us about 6 points from all games.

Anyway, as a friend of mine said in September - Koeman hasn't won shit in his 20+ year managerial career, what do you expect? I shut him back then, but he was right.

He had the team where needed then didnt have the balls to drop Pique/Busquets and continued with old core.

Same old problems by time end of season came.

No worries though.. Laporta will ask those old guys who should be next coach as they all think they are not the problem and all same issues will be there next season again.
