Ronald Koeman

Weak Liverpool??? WTF? He had a prime Suarez and Gerrard in that team together with few other great players. That team was definitely strong enough to compete for the title that year. Furthermore, the level of Premier league 7-8 years ago was far below the level we are witnessing today. Back than the best football was definitely played in Spain.

I said a weak squad. Picking two class players out of the squad doesn't make that squad suddenly good.

And that will probably be another mistake. :( I am aware there is no top tier manager on the market but why the fuck can't they just give the chance to Xavi?

The board want Xavi but Jordi Cruyff convinced Laporta otherwise

Joan Laporta isn?t the only one in favor of hiring Roberto Martinez as new coach ? add Jordi Cruyff into the list too, although I?m not too surprised to hear his name. He actually has pretty good relations w/ Martinez. JC was also Martinez?s ?best-man? in his wedding. The board mainly want Xavi but Laporta is opposed

President should not be the only one who decides. JC was his best-man? Well wonderful!!! He is definitely the right man for the job than!

The criteria for the job:

Knows Spanish - Check!
Born in Catalonia - Check!
Roots for Barca - Check!
Is somehow connected to the Cruyff family - Check!

To be fair, some 4 years old Cruyff relative can probably meet this criteria.

In a few years time we'll wonder why our young players didn't develop. Well just look our managers after Pep left. Appart from Luch others were mid table team level at best.

Some of you really dedicated on this "change the coach" agenda, I honestly envy you. I legit think that the only players capable of entering our Barcelona 2015 side is Frenkie de Jong and Alba. Literally everyone else in this team isn't good enough. Not a tier below world class, not 2 tier, not 3. This is legit a midtable squad. This team with Messi was barely good enough, without him our best scenario would be to struggle into the top 4.

No coach is going to change this shit. Competitive, competent, and lucky windows in the transfer market however will. Until that happens I think it's moot to consistently have discussions about whether the coach is good enough or not.

Koeman read a speech talking about how the club still needs time to rebuild on the field, the youngsters, support of the team against Granada, etc - and left the conference. Didn?t take any Q?s from journalists today.

It was Koeman himself who decided to not answer questions from the press today and the letter which he read out was also written by him. The captains were only informed about this and the club found out some minutes before 1PM CET. @AdriaAlbets #FCB

"Good morning everyone, the club is with me in a situation of reconstruction. The financial situation of the club is linked to sports, this means that we have to rebuild the squad without being able to make large investments. Football needs time, young people can arrive to be great for two years. The good thing about rebuilding the team is that young people will be able to have opportunities like Xavi and Iniesta had in their day. But patience is required. Remaining in a high ranking in the League would be a success. In addition, in the Champions cannot expect miracles, the defeat against Bayern Munich last week has to be approached from that perspective.

The process in which we find ourselves means that the staff has to be supported, with deeds and with words. This process must be supported. I know that the press recognizes this process, it is not the first time it has happened in its history at FC Barcelona. We count on your support in these difficult times. As a squad and players, we are satisfied with the support we had against Granada. Visit Bar?a ".

He's gone, lol.

That Liverpool side were mediocre. Suarez pushed them beyond their limit. Next season without him, they lost 1-6 to Sunderland in Gerrard's last game.

In what world is a cripple and a midfield workhorse getting into that 2015 team? Those guys are only "good" because all our other options are shit.

true

Including Pedri and Fati???

fati and pedri are nobodies if you look at the situation objectively. they haven't done anything of note for this club and might end up like the likes of bojan, rafinha, denis, deulofeu etc.

Lucho was a coach then Fati would have decent minutes as a back up forward. Pedri would likely rotate with Iniesta. Remember Iniesta was not in good form for most of 2014/15 season in Liga (there was a joke about Iniesta vs a tree), he was a beast in UCL 2014/15 though.

I agree with everything he said, but he's just not good enough to handle the project past this point. Too bad he didn't come when we had a squad that could make Koeman work. That being said he shouldn't have missed the chance to win La Liga last year, could take years before we get another chance like that one.

6racies Xavi
If there was a Klopp or Tuchel on the market I would understand spending money to fire Koeman. Firing Koeman just replace him with a Xavi or Martinez is a waste of money.
