The Squad isn't good enough, but he certainly isn't good enough either.
Yeah, improved performances will happen if any of the two are worked on. We'll be better with a better manager, and Koeman would also do better with a better team.
However, to have teams like Sociedad, Villareal ahead of us at the end, if it happens, would be unacceptable. Only Madrid and Atletico have better teams (and not by much, as we can see them capable of putting in shit performances pretty often as well).
I can accept ending up in 3rd place and not competing for the title, but that's the lowest we should be looking at the standard in La Liga. Absolute bare minimum, hell, let's make it 4th place if Sevilla has a great season. But that's it. This is a very weak league, probably the weakest it has been in the last 20 years. With a class manager, we'd compete for the title as it is, but I understand it's extremely hard to attract top-class managers with our current situation.
Koeman would do decently to stop moaning, secure the top 4 as he should with the level of the opposition in the league currently, and move on at some lesser club more fitting for his skills as a manager.
