If the club can't sell Suarez that has nothing to do with Koeman, if he stays then he should use him, there is no point paying the guy 25m a year and not play him occasionaly. Koeman doesn't want him here thats for sure but it is up to the board to get rid of him, its not Koemans fault the club gave players who are 30+ long lucrative contracts.

There is even less of a point to play him regularly because

1. he is shit
2. he makes the team shit as he fucks up lots of attacks
3. if he plays regularly it means he will pass the 60% game mark, which will activate the clause that will extend his contract by a further year, which means we will have him for another year with high wages.

Some Barcelona players are very pleasantly surprised by the physical intensity of Koeman's training sessions. Some players have even highlighted that it has been a long time since Barcelona had trained with the intensity that is being seen recently (via

No shit. It's hard not to improve from 1/10. Even if you do mediocre training it's still better than the travesty we've been doing in the past years. What were Spaletti's exact words, if we prepared matches like Barcelona we'd be losing 18-0?

Even professionals are shocked about it.

If Koeman gets this team to train, prepare matches, and run during the games as much as the opponents, that's over half his job done for me. That's like maybe the singe most important thing in professional football. To train well and prepare well.

Not just Spaletti, some of the players were shocked hearing our players were driving their kids to school in their humvees 1hr b4 the match. Well for Alba, the buttler was doing the driving.

Commando's looking good. On BarcaTV+, they were showing the 2nd half team still doing drills and running suicides 45mins post-match. Commentators were positively astonished, saying they've never seen this before hahaha

Yea, and hopefully if some players bitch about it this time, Koeman will shut them up by asking them to take a cozy seat on the bench.

He will! He'll make Gouda on his promises! He looks like a good ol' no-nonsense, speak his mind, Dutch rock

I'd love FIFA or whoever the power at be to allow for 11 subs. Would make for a much faster game and fans would be able to see fringe players more often. + it's better for the players as well. Everybody wins

Finally, the Dutchman has praised the work that his men have been doing in training: “In the three weeks that we have been there we have improved a lot in the physical aspect and this week we have insisted a lot on the tactical issue

Just surround Messi with young, fit players who run a lot and see what the future brings. This Bar?a never was outplayed because opponents had better footballers, but fitter footballers. Coutinho alone shows a big difference after one year at Bayern.
I have a lot of faith in that fitness coach of Koeman who worked already with Rijkaard at the club.

I just want to see a refreshing Barca side with lots of player movement on the pitch. I'm tired of that boring, slow football. Results will come from alone, because there is still lots of talent in this team.

Rijkaard's team started to play well at the end of the first season and in the 2nd (2005) and 3rd (2006) season.
In his first season, he still had some amigos from that era: Lucho 33, Cocu 33, Overmars 30, Reiziger 30, Kluivert 28.

Koeman's team won't shine as long as we have Messi, Suarez, Busi, Alba etc

Busi, Suarez and co will probably play a lot early in the season.
I expect them to be heavily benched in the 2nd part of the season.

I think that even Messi will play less in spring due to decline, bad form and fatigue.

Rijkaard was also lucky enough to be blessed with an absolute baller in R10 and a killer in Eto'o. Not to mention young Messi and Iniesta and Xavi.

I mean I have SOME faith in Trincao, Pedri etc...but a lot of success is luck/circumstance.

I agree regarding the detriments though. It's disconcerting how many amigos still remain and how Busquets keeps finding a starting spot.

Look at this:
Rijkaard and Laporta came in a summer of 2003.
We haven't won La liga in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003.

In his first weeks, Rijkaard fired:
Gks Bonano, Enke
Defenders Frank De Boer, Patrik Anderson, Christanval
Midfielders Riquelme, Fabio Rochemback, Mendieta
Attackers Dani Garcia

That's 9 players from the old era fired in the first weeks.
After one season, he fired Saviola, Kluivert, Overmars, Cocu, Reiziger, Lucho.

That's 9+6 players from the old era.
Regardless of Xavi and Iniesta.

Whom did we sell this summer?
Rakitic

Rijkaard fired 9 guys.
We fired 1 for now.

Back then: Pique, Alba, Semedo, Busi, Raki, Vidal, Cou, Griezz, Suarez, Messi, Dembele, Braitwaite would all leave the club over 2 summers.
And that's only 12 players.

There are some notable exceptions here. Not one of those players who Rijkhaard let go were club legends of the stature of these guys, having won nearly 20 titles with the team, some of them including about 3 CLs.

Most of those listed by you are veterans from a rather mediocre Barca era (hell, a good chunk are from the Dutch contingent brought by Van Gaal), easy to let go, these ones are from the greatest era.

Good point. Not comparable in that sense.

That's a nice lumping of players who are part of the Amigos and players who are not.

Bartos biggest mistake (and he's made a ton of them) was hiring Shitverde. If we had a strong, world class manager he would have maybe squeezed out one cl and we would have transitioned smoothly to a new era. Alot of the amigos would have been let go along the way and we would be in a better place.
Shitverde let the dressing room run the club. He was a fucking cuck.

Financial situation was alot better than too. We can't even afford 30-40 million players at the moment.
