There are some notable exceptions here. Not one of those players who Rijkhaard let go were club legends of the stature of these guys, having won nearly 20 titles with the team, some of them including about 3 CLs.
Most of those listed by you are veterans from a rather mediocre Barca era (hell, a good chunk are from the Dutch contingent brought by Van Gaal), easy to let go, these ones are from the greatest era.
Then compare us to Galacticos from early 2000s.
One of the reasons why Barca returned on top under Laporta and Rijkaard is because Real were in the same situation as we are currently.
Rijkaard created a new, younger, fresher, motivated team who won zero trophies (except Deco), while Real had in 2004\05:
32 Zidane, Figo
31 Roberto Carlos
29 Beckham, Salgado, Helguera, Celades
28 Ronaldo 9, Guti, Solari, Gravesen
So, basically, Real's Galacticos turned Rijkaard's team into champions.
They sucked, we took the chance.
Then we earned self confidence, built chemistry.
To some extent, old Galacticos opened the doors to Rijkaard's and Pep's Barca.
We had a better team and a better core.
While Rm needeed years to rebuild, even though they won La ligas here and there in 2007, 2008 and 2012.
