Ronald Koeman

Did you read what I wrote? Tuchel is a PSG-reject then. Maybe the manager and the club don't see eye to eye anymore and they part ways.

Fine, i admit i was too harsh with Setien, he did well enough with Betis, for a while.

Still though, Valverde has the better record as a manager regardless, both with Bilbao, and then with Barcelona.

Not sure you guys waste your energy talking Valverde or Setien. I was one of not many pointed out long time ago that cowman is not the Barca couch. Unfortunately, I was right.
This stupid idiot coach should resign if he has balls. He absolutely has NO ideas and tactics with the clubs. Except a couple of occasions created by Messi, we had nothing.
Hopefully, much waited Laporta will show that he was chosen as Prsident to take action. Now it's time he can prove that.

Im not saying you neccessarily believe Setien was better than Valverde, but how can the firing of Valverde be right, if the replacement was worse?

I'll say it again, the fact that Barto put Setien/Koeman in charge of Barcelona after firing Valverde doesn't mean that he shouldn't have been sacked. It was long overdue at that point as we were on a downward spiral with Valverde. After the 2 humiliations in CL too boot. Barto being incompetent doesn't make Valverde a good manager period.

Setien was also given the signing he wanted (Braithwaite) while Koeman got none.

Seriously though, unbelievable that Bartomeu spent 49m that window on between Braithwaite and Trincao's agreement. 7m the window before on Matheus Fernandes and 4.5m the summer after on Gustavo Maia. That's over 60m euros blown. And we're not even getting into the Dembele, Griezmann, Dembele territory which atleast had some sporting merit behind the decisions.

Barto was in charge, but was it truly his decisions or someone under him, Abidal etc? I lack insight into it...
Also Braithwaite hasn't really underperformed I think, although any money spent can be criticized I guess

And Koeman got Dest at least... Lucky he didn't get Wijnaldum or Depay too.

To be honest Koeman is not a top tier coach, we all knew that going in. Myself, I had more confidence in his coaching team and Koeman's character than his actual ability. All things considered, he had the opportunities presented to himself to win the league but could not convert them. And that is why he has to go, or atleast we need to bring viable options to the table now.

There may even be one more (last) chance that comes up depending on Sevilla's result tomorrow. Atleti could lose one more game but would we even capitalise on it? Evidence says no.

I think the sporting direction wanted Angel Rodriguez but Setien wanted Braithwaite. He has done OK in spurts, but he is never someone who we should find ourself in the position to have to pay 18m for.

Consider that the January transfer window before we got Boateng on a free for ST, out of desperation. So the problem was not new and yet we went 4 transfer windows (Summer 18,Winter 19, Summer 19, Winter 20) with no clue on who to bring.

That 20m get's you a decent option with proper planning. Or even make that 30m when you factor in the signings of the Brazilians.
