he wasn't the greatest of all time but most likely would have been if it wasn't for his injuries! the player we saw during his one season at Barca and his time at Inter before the injury was just breathtaking! i can only imagine what kind of player he would have become if the knee injury didn't happen.

I joined this forum today as I was watching the Spartak match. I'm a big fan of this Barcelona's style of play.

Then I came across this thread. I'm 28 and I watched Ronaldo in his prime. For me he is the best striker ever and the only player who gave me goosebumps. I've never seen a player play like Ronaldo.

The pace, skill etc has been talked about a lot, but for me it was the way he shot the ball. The follow through was so great, even with less power he could hit a daisy-cutter shot that bobbled into the net. People would blame the keepers but anyone who knows about 'timing' will know what Ronaldo was doing.


But this Messi I'm impressed with. He is like a Zidane + Ronaldo combined into one.
