No chance I would sell him unless it was for 100+million. People are so quick to forget how good he is.

I have read reports that we are seeking to sell him for 50m. In my opinion this is not a prudent move at all, even if we get De Ligt. If injuries are not a concern, I don’t see why we should sell him, he is still a very good CB. De Ligt should be seen as Pique’s long-term replacement, not someone who will replace Umtiti.

Knee joint injuries fuck careers. It is known. Players are rarely as explosive and tenacious as they once had been after them. Plenty of examples. Of course a tiny minority of players manages to bounce back, but the possibility is very small.

On his perceived World Cup 'sacrifice', didn't Umtiti also refuse surgery on the grounds of a childhood trauma? I'm sure I read it somewhere he's afraid of getting under the knife.

He's becoming the new Thomas Vermaelen for us except on higher wages and potentially even more serious injuries being more frequent.

At least with Verm, even when he got injured and came back and still seemed serviceable to use when needed. With Umtiti his bad injuries he had left him look pretty terrible from a mobility standpoint that I can't see anyone taking a gamble on him at the moment.

Our center back policy has been fecking appaling this year. Juve were trying to sign a replacement after Chiellini's injury even when they already had four proven centerbacks there. We only had two reliable ones entering this season and we still did nothing about it.

The useless board should get rid of this fraud as soon as possible. He is finished and it was all his own doing. Not committed enough for Barça. It was never the case. Case in point his pathetic public behavior when he was trying to get a contract extension. Have not liked many of his comments since he got permanently crooked either. Got the impression that Umtiti thought that Barça should be in debt to him.

Won't be overly missed as he is a nobody in terms of achievements for Barça. Get rid of him as soon as possible. Plenty of better, younger and more talented CB's out there.

In any case this should be his last season. If he does not want to leave next summer, freeze him out of the squad. Can't have a crook bloc a place in the squad from a possible reinforcement or the likes of Todibo.

The good thing about this is that he will be fourth choice when/if he returns.
