Nope, because he wasn't sold, his contract expired.

And he's allowed to leave because of "good behavior"...

Anyway, Sandro scored 2 goals against Granada and they're mathematically relegated to Segunda.

He's been nothing short but great for Málaga this season and for Sandro's sake, I hope he stays to develop even further.

Always said he and Munir should have played more while they were here. And giving him away for free was bullshit. 21 year old player scoring 12 league goals with 6 games to go.
Great decision once again.

MSN by their very nature don't allow any other forwards to develop. It's why Pedro left, it's why Munir/Sandro couldn't get any games, and it's why finding a competent backup for the trio is nigh impossible. Sandro was the less talented between him and Munir but since he was released for free he was allowed to pick the best environment for his development while Munir was tossed in what is essentially the trash in a Valencia side that could barely tell right from up the previous season.

His contract still had a good 2 or so years on it, he signed a new one when he was promoted iirc and he was only with the first team for one season. He was released on a free because of good behavior.

Munir chose to go to Valencia and a time was reported to want to stay in Spain. He wasnt 'tossed' there by Barca.

It is nothing unique to Barca that top players dont want to stay as back ups for years. Real are going through similar problems just now.

I remember him saying he wanted to stay at Barca, not Spain. Him going to Valencia was announced on the exact same day as the Paco transfer, that combined with the added buy option makes it clear the deals were connected.

We can't get top players to come as our backups, we can't get medium level players to come as backups, we can't get promising players to come as backups, all we can get is trash. There was a time where we had 4, maybe 5 (Depending on how you viewed other backups) forwards who could help us win a game. Now we only have MSN and if one or two of them aren't carrying the team we're basically up a creek.

Sandro had a team option for this season, team decided not to pick it up.

Can you explain what you mean here?

@Mods- I'm not meaning to double post. I'm on a crappy laptop while my main is in the shop and it won't let me copy text for some reason.

Munir cant be forced to sign for any club he doesnt want to.

Was reported at time he turned down offers from England, Germany and others in Spain.

Barca havent always had great back ups before MSN. In Peps last season they were relying on Tello and Cuenca who are far worse than likes of Rafinha or even Denis. Even Bojan as a back up wasnt that great earlier than that.

Means that his contract ended last summer, but the contract included an option for the club to extend his contract with the pre-agreed terms for the 16/17 season. The club decided not to pick that option and hence he became free agent

It's unlikely Munir would say no to the club if directly told to go to Valencia. If Munir really did choose to go out on loan and where then shame on him for making such a worse decision than Sandro but that makes less sense to me.

Tello and Cuenca were leagues better than Denis and I'd say they were on a similar level to Rafinha. Tello's one trick of kick and run was hilarious in how predictable it was but it still came in handy especially against weaker opposition, which we've really suffered against this season, and I'd never expect the likes of Rafa or Denis to be ale to contribute against the likes of Chelsea like Cuenca did and I'd suspect you wouldn't either if someone claimed they should start such a match in their own threads.

Oh, I see. It's really all semantics at this point, then. The point is... the club let him go.

I dont think the club would have told him to go to Valencia though and he could have said no.

The one thing that the club do is give their players a bit of freedom when leaving. Sometimes at the cost of more money but I quite like the players are treated well.

Tello and Cuenca were not better than Denis at all. They were worse than what Barca have now. Neither have had a season like he did last year at Villareal then he gets used as a CM by Lucho.

What a strike for his first goal, and I wouldn't say Munir was better than him,Sandro was a star for the youth too,he is just more of a real 9 than munir.

I always liked Sandro's abilities. Shame we didnt get any money for him. We will probably try to buy him back if he signs for a bigger team.
