Sandro Rosell

Hope history proves me wrong but I'm getting the feeling that we walk closer to Barca's pre-Laporta years than evolving and trying to strengthen.

As the spill over of the laporta era starts to dry up, the sporting deficiencies of rosell is starting to become more clear

No, revenue has more than quadrupled since those days. It's never going back to those days. Rosell may well be a very distasteful individual, but he is cautious and effective. The spending has been controlled and the debt is decreasing significantly. He also played it safe in appointing Tito and the club has pretty much continued in the vein of the previous four seasons. If he got someone else it might have been better, but it also might have been a lot worse and things could've completely fallen apart.

One can say he played it safe so he can have a manager he can control.I have little info over the debt.If you can provide any i would be grateful.

edit:

It's in installments though. And other clubs were apparently offering more.

I don't like Rosell, but I'm not mad about the Neymar deal.

Whether it's in installments or not doesn't matter that much. It's still over 60 million (including the friendlies). The installments part is basically only a way to make it sound better, I'd rather pay 50m up front and take a loan for 20m or so...

Even if the other club was only in it to scare Rosell into overpaying?

They really made a bid, I don't think it was only to scare. If Neymar'd choose them they'd have to pay. They tried to steal the player, for whatever reason.

Please don't be so childish really. This is real business and that too a very serious one. Florentino and Real associated over time had confirmed that they were after neymar.

So what if someone else came in if they raised the price, he could simply have walked away their is quite a few better players than neymar that you could get for 40-60m euros
