Considering who his teammates are, many players are ok for cover against weaker sides. Not good enough for Barcelona. If he knows his best interest, he should go.

He's a much better DM and RB than he is CM.

He might even have done a better job at LB than Mathieu.

The problem is he is not good enough to play against top opposition. Just against minions. Our midfield is too thin until Arda can play. And I think one more player is needed too.

double pivot + Roberto meant we were playing essentially with a 3 man DM midfield which was just begging Sevilla to come at us and they did with full force. That is a big mistake. Roberto should only sub Busi and if need be Rakitic, not Iniesta

Starting Rafinha from the beginning was a poor decision. He'd have been a great sub for the midfield and, let's be honest here, there was no real logic behind playing him as a winger and benching Pedro. If Lucho was punishing Pedro for leaving Sandro at the very least should have started. Lucho's lineup backed us into a corner from the beginning and made our bench look even weaker than it was. Rafa is our only viable sub for Iniesta or Rakatic but when he's already tired we're essentially forced to play Roberto.

Taking Rafinha off for Bartra for a poor sub though, imo. Should have been Sandro. The double pivot never works and it neutered our chances of getting another goal. Luckily Messi is a bit of a God and Pedro gave it 110% when subbed on.
