Sergi Roberto

Ideally I don't want him to be the regular starter anywhere, but Bob is an invaluable squad player, can be cover for 4 positions. Not many guys can do that. I am glad he was started over Vidal and think he should play plenty of MF until Arthur gets back. Maybe he can mostly be rested saturday so he is ready to go for the CDR classico.

Bob brought the midfield mojo tonight. His energy really helped our otherwise lethargic midfield presence to cope with Lyon

Would you sell him if we received something between 40m to 60m?

I am interested in what you think.

nah i wouldn't personally.

I hate seeing him play RB and hes not good enough to start midfield when everyones fit but hes a great utility player and it would probably cost the same amount we sell him for to actually buy a replacement

I agree with both. I do not believe that there is anyone else who is better than him as a 12th player. However, I do not think that he would be okay being a substitute.

I'd keep him.

I hope we can see Sergi in CM more often. That performance last night was encouraging, and I'm sure Busquets was very appreciative of Valverde's decision as well.

Jack of all trades, master of none.

And that's not a negative. But that's what he should be and what his ceiling is. Should not start in any position, but is pretty valuable being able to play multiple positions.

I'd sell him for anything above 50m really. Put the money toward a striker, left back and center back. I'd rather have second options that are specialists than use Roberto all over the place as he's expert in nothing. Ideally, I would also sell Rakitic and try to go for N'Dombele but it's unrealistic so whatever.

But that's the skill he has. He can be used in almost any role, while not the best at anything, he is very versatile and useful squad player. No point moving him for 50 mil.

He's a player that you can play in a number of positions without losing out immensely in quality from the starter. You'd be hard pressed to find players with similar profiles for the same or even larger amount

Exactly. In one player you have depth in 3-4 positions. Cost to replace that depth in individual positions is way more than you can receive back, both in fees and wages (about 85 with 3 more years so excellent value)

Nobody would pay the amount he's worth for us. I did the same comparison with Nacho a while ago.

These players are hard to replace and worth a lot more to the selling club compared to the club that's buying, therefore a transfer is difficult.
