Barcelona have two decent options to transfer Junior Firpo. A loan move is not ruled out. As for Sergi Roberto, he's not totally against a departure if a nice opportunity arises, but he's in no hurry whatsoever. [cat radio]

[ @tjuanmarti] | Contacts between Barca and Man City have been intense in recent days. There have not only been talks for Sergi Roberto and Laporte, but also for other players. At the moment, Barca is very interested in Man City players and vice-versa

Man City won't offer the truly key players. De Bruyne, Foden, Bernado. But they'll probably offer Fernandinho

MARCA are reporting that we are considering to offer Roberto a two year contract renewal.

"Faced with this situation, the Bar?a sports management is considering the option of renewing the player for two more seasons. In this way, the club achieves two important objectives . The first is that he does not leave for free next summer and that Barcelona has the option of placing him on the market for two more years. And, on the other hand, by extending the contract, which would obviously be with less pay, managing to change the footballer's payment conditions for the next season and release the salary mass."

Sounds like this will work out fantastic...

I personally think we should move on. His level has dropped a lot the past two years.

We are only considering this because Wijnaldum didn't sign with us. Not sure where else he has space in our roster??

I don't mind the option of not renewing and having it expire next summer. One less problem to worry about.

Time to stop being a charity if the level drops.

Only reason they are thinking of this is that no club will want him this summer and will be left with his huge wages for another season.

Renewing to reduce his salary for this season.. which will then still be payed to him on top of new deal for next three.

Just pushing issue down the line for another two seasons when no club will want to sign him where he would go this summer.

They are scrambling for ways to make Messi deal work and signing Aguero and extending Roberto to make it happen is backwards.

Looks like a win-win-win yes.
Roberto is a good squad player with a wage that is reportedly a bit too high, and a contract expiring in one year.
To have him as a player for one or two more years will be good
To reduce his wage will be good
To recieve some money if a club wants him in a year will be good.
