yeah, but overall he was pretty good. certainly not an example of a poor game from him. for a derby, against prime denilson, he was excellent i would say.

Of course, it's Dani Alves.

But it's a good reference to see the level of Alves at a similar age compared to Dest who has been judged super harshely for the same mistakes Alves showed.

Dest's breaking point was supposed to be the 1-4 PSG game, in which I believe he was not 100% fit to play, coming fresh from the injury. Kudos to the kid - managed to bounce back well without falling deep into depression like Andre Gomes, Semedo or Pjanic did. Different mentality I guess. With the new RWB role he is much more creative and comfortable on both ends of pitch, also in the process, eliminating the ineffective outer RW role of Dembele.

Pjanic and Semedo weren't depressed just shit lol.

Gomes was depressed but also shit.

Obvs I mean shit for Barca btw, I'm sure they're fine professional footballers

He's going to be played as an LB today in order to fit in Reggie Cannon.

But this is going to be Cannon's only game at RB because he has to fly back to Portugal to quarantine after this game is over.

I hope Dest's incorporation into the USMNT and good performance like that will make more American fans follow and gravitate toward us.

We should sell more jerseys in the US.

Marketing is a good thing, but I prefer it to be natural, not buying some random Chinese player to sell TV rights and shirts. What Espanyol did.

In all fairness, Espanyol signing Wu Lei wasn't just a marketing ploy though. He wasn't just some random Chinese player, the best forward in China (not that it says much). He was genuinely good at the time and was fast on wings and did well for them initially (beyond what the stats tell) but quickly faded due to a combination of reasons. He scored one against us by the way.
