Suarez doesn't suit the way we're playing under Koeman.

Maybe we'd lead the league if he was still here and accepted being a backup, but when a team is in a transition you'll have these growing pains, difficulties.
It's a good thing the team is showing they can learn from that, that we can depend on some of our younger players to step up and that Koeman can learn from his mistakes and swallow his pride and change his system.
We're still in the title race and might end up winning.
I don't see any negatives from this season. If anything Suarez might've been a band-aid, but we've needed to move on from that. Winning the league or being so close under tougher circumstances is a good thing for most of our players and Messi seem to be enjoying the challenge these days as well.
I would argue losing Ansu early in the season is the reason we're not first in the league anyway.

Koeman is a smart man and wanted him gone.
He made difference for them and Barca have made the difference going forward with him gone.
Win win.

We played three formations this season. We still don't know if 3-5-2 will suit us in the future. What is this way of playing? Griezzman passing back or dissapearing against good opposition? Braithwaite being Braithwaite?

Bilbao, Sociedad and Sevilla are good teams.
Suarez has made difference for Atletico against poor teams.
Griezmann is second only to Messi on chances created and assists so not quite the always passing backwards narrative. Coulsd end the season with 35 goals/assists playing mainly from LW and AM and you would claim did nothing.
Messi is the man Barca are built to compliment not Braithwaite or Griezmann and it is being done in far better way than with Suarez.

It's not about the formation, the overall intensity in movement, energy and pressing are key to Koeman, which he stresses in pretty much every press conference. Suarez can't provide that, his legs/knees are gone.

The formation is flexible due to the players who work, run and move as a unit to support Messi as focal point.
What can Saurez do? Cant run, pass consitently, press. He can play one way.. a CF in and around box that takes lots of risks with ball. There is no coach in world that can change him as a player now and all the issues with him remain.

Let's see prime Haaland first, and then we can talk about prime Suarez vs prime Haaland.
Until then, that dubious debate is meant to undermine Haaland, because people are comparing prime Suarez with current Haaland

You think that in 2021 a striker's job is to hung around the box and finish off chances and get as many as possible.

2) The whole discussion about Suarez giving the league to Atleti is a bum question.
Atleti plays in specific and limiting way that suits a limiting striker like current Suarez, with no defensive duties, conservation of energy during the game, and hanging close to the box most of the time.
-If you think that Suarez would have scored the same number of goals the way he plays had he stayed here, then you don't understand football.
You just add goals next to the name of each player without understanding how a team sport works.

We play in a different way this season, Koeman wanted from day 1 to instill modern principles like intensity, ball recovery, constant pressing.
Let's say Suarez was still around and a starter with his lazy football, positioning and work-rate.
The result would have been that:
1) He would have decreased the amount of ball recoveries close to the opposition box, as he does not defend.
2) Therefore, fewer clear chances that result from ball steals for him and the rest of the team
3) Due to his inability to move, he would fracture our defensive shape in every phase of play. Since with Messi that is already a problem, it means x2.
Needless to say, that would result in ineffective pressing (with gaps easy to get exploited by even mid table teams), therefore less possession
4) But also it would result in the opposition pinning us back easily, and therefore having more chances for them to score.
5) His deteriorating ability to intelligently combine at full speed would mean less chances for us.
All in all, less possession for us, fewer and worse chances for us, more possession and better chances for the opposition.
Contributing on both ends in Barca scoring less, conceding more, and playing worse overall.
And I didn't even analyze all the flaws of his game.
So, no we would not have scored even half of his tally at Atleti, on the top of these detrimental effects.
But even if Atleti wins this league, the point still stands:
He suited them, not us. Why is it so hard for some to get it?

when the defenders don't give him space he just runs into them or passes back or sideways. that's why i don't see him as this bright prospect.
plus, will we ever have another right fullback that crosses the ball into the box?
