And this is why Argentina is a lost cause for the near future. Players like Kun might be talented, but they care only about the money, not the success.

Maybe we should sell Messi, he's a "foreign element" after all.

You forget that Messi could have played for Spain though and he apparently does really regret it.................

<meta charset="utf-8">Kun is a great player, when he's focused...It'll be interesting to see what Mancini can get out of him along with players like Yaya & Silva who are no nonsense about their approach to the game...If they can get Kun to bring his best more consistently, sky is the limit

Argentina doesn't deserve Messi. They've got their "people's champion" Carlos Tevez, and blame everything on Messi. Who missed the penalty that knocked them out of the Copa America? Oh.

Aguero will fit in perfectly, he's already used to winning league cups and being irrelevant when it comes to trophies that matter.

It's not about deserving, Messi is Argentine. He's not a lisping gachupine, he's from Rosario.

Did George Weah "deserve" the Liberian national team?

Yes, there's examples of Europeans constantly poaching South American talent for their national team (See Di Stefano), that doesn't make it right.

Plus in the case of Senna, I don't think anyone in Brazil still knows who he is. He's a role player, was a great one and a big reason Spain won the Euros, but it's not like Brazil had any trouble finding replacements. And Spain showed no loyalty to Senna, immediately dumping him when his decline began.

Messi could have taken the cheap way out and played for Spain to constantly use Xavi as a crutch, but he did the right thing. It's nice to see some players still have loyalties to their country in the face of European neocolonialism. All you have to do is listen to Messi talk to see that he's Argentine.

No one could afford him. He wanted to go to Chelsea/Madrid/Barca/etc for years, but his price tag was insane. Didn't help that he married Maradona's daughter, cause it only made the hype train move faster. I think he just wants to play in the champions league above all, and he finally gets the chance to do it.

yup.
