With Mascherano in now the quality of Busquets really became even more evident. Much is down to our style of play, no doubt, as Sergi fits our sytem whereas Mascherano is a classic DM. They won´t compete much with the squad being thin, rotations, 2 pivots and whatnot but should it come down to it: Busquets>Mascherano
At the moment, I agree, however lets give Mascherano some time to get used to our system he has after all, only played one game
If he manages to integrate himself to our passing system well, I think he'll eventually become a much more reliable player than Busquets mainly due to him being naturally better at holding the midfield and giving that extra steel and coverage to our less-than-solid backside. As I said Segio has the upper hand currently due to how well he naturally fits in our system, but I still believe he's a liability when it comes to us
not having the ball against tougher opposition...
Mascherano also has to work on his aggressiveness if he wants to beat Segio in the pecking order, referees in La Liga don't tolerate his style of play as much as the referee's in the EPL he is used to...
