Actually I believed he was better than Toure from his first matches with our first team. Later on Busquets had some bad patches and he wasn't always better than Ivorian.
But I guess few people here want to make themselves feel among "very few" and be loud about spotting Sergio first.
A lot of people are like that. Once things get going well, they start shouting the loudest in order to make themselves feel like they are genuises where in fact for most people Busquets was an accident waiting to happen. All those who said he is an accident waiting to happen were not wrong because in a way he was, however it is difficult for an most fans to look beyond that. He had the skill, the ideas but lack the experience.
I always liked him, not as much as Iniesta but I knew if he was on my team I'd love him because he not only is he young and very good but because he is thick skinned. Rarely do I see players who are thick skinned as he is. Not even players with mighty confidence like Llorente and Muller are in their own world like Busquets. He plays in the most difficult position on the field, the most demanding and the most vulnerable but no matter what happens (even when he is at fault) he simply just carries on.
With experience he will be making less fouls, he will perhaps release the ball faster and hopefully never repeat what he did to Thiago Motta. Cunt.
As good as Pique is, Busquets to me is perhaps the third best player from your cantera behind Messi and Iniesta. Messi is just a football freak, modern time's Maradona. Xavi is instrumental with his passing ability and is the boss but he matured later in his career. Bojan is shit, Pedro is a good utility player, Puyol was magnificent but he came through at an older age, Valdes suffered a lot in the beginning, Pique is magnificent but is lucky to have Puyol next to him and had Rio and SAF.
Iniesta made it at a young age due to his swift movement and his ability to go transparent. Busquets was the only person who plays in a lonely position with little direction from an experience partner. He got stuck in and withstood plenty of criticism to win the World Cup and the CL. Only time will tell what he will be to Barcelona, but in my opinion, he can become Barcelona's captain in 4-5 years (but he needs to beat Pique in maturity).
Why did Pep fight with the other coach?
