Sergio Busquets

You're welcome
Honestly it feels like watching a retired player who's come back 2 years later. His intelligence on the pitch isn't what it used to be.

It?s his body that can?t keep up with his mind anymore. Its like a pianist returning to play after two years. Got all the notes memorized but fingers cant keep up because they lost flexibility, strength and dexterity.

Yeah to be fair though, it's been abundantly clear for a few years now that Busi is finished as a top level player. I think Koeman does see it too as he did drop him for 2 games on the bounce. The problem is whilst Pjanic can release the ball quicker and has performed pretty well most of the time he's started a game, he too can be pretty easy for the opposition to get past.

He's drifting around like a third cb half the time and the other half he's either fouling people unnecessarily, getting ran past or just nowhere near where he's supposed to be

One thing about Busi.. It's amazing how a man who has no physicality or speed left, can still play at such a high level, not top level, but still pretty high.
This takes a great amoung of technical quality to do. Just shows what an absolute baller he was at his peak. Shame age catches everyone.

Even in his prime he was still very unphysical and slow. But he managed to always stand at the right spot to reach out and cut off passes. No wonder he was called the Octopus of Badia.

Nowadays he still cuts off a fair share of passes, but far from what he used to do. Now we see him reaching for passes that go past him by 50 cm. He's there but not quite enough.

Technical ability is still there no question, although everything happens at a lower pace so he looks like a grandpa who was once great.

Idk if he's improved or whether our last opponents haven't managed to expose his weaknessess.

Part of it could be that he's back in his pivot role rather than in a midfield 2.

Still far from prime and still a big reliability, but at least he's been improving in the right direction lately.
