Sergio Busquets

No, he needs well positioned MCs and attackers in front of him, who doesn't lose the ball in unexpected or bad positions and who are not terribly out of position when possession is lost.
He also needs defenders and keeper behind him who are good enough to find him correctly, and a coach who doesn't tell him to come deep all the time.

He is a DM. Part of his responsibility is to win duels, foil counters, offer protection for the back line, help lock down the middle of the park etc. Most of the time he is unable to do any of these things because he is too slow and too weak especially in very intense games. Bilbao away is a perfect example.

He wins a lot of duels, but most of the time he catches up the loose balls by being in the right space and by being very fast to react etc.
He was never fast or strong, but he is without a doubt to me the best DM there ever was. It is very obvious that he needs the team to play in a certain style to be great though.

I can even see Pique, Griezmann, Dembmele, Coutinho playing better and improving if they moved to another team. But busi is done. Put him in any other team and he would look even worse. I am saying that with 100% confidence.

He is basically Pirlo on his last Juve days when he was just jogging around like a corpse, thing is Pirlo had monsters like Vidal, Marchisio and Pogba running for him, and we can't afford to do that.

Your 100% confidence doesn't include the NT I guess, as he was declared MOTM in at least two of the games just a couple of months ago when Spain was the best playing team of the Euros.

He was named MOTM the match in two games vs poor sides that sat off.

About the only time any half decent team took the game high up park and pressed Spain was Croatia at end of the game when two behind... they scored twice and Busi was terrible. Being taken off not soon after.

He cant deal with team pressing him but will look decent any time Barca v shit la liga teams that sit off.

What JamDav said plus, Spain' style is Barca's style.
It should be obvious that if he moved to any other team, that style wouldn't be there.

Nah the style that suits Busquets best has been underused lately. First he was placed behind Rakitic and Vidal, and under Koeman he has been used very strangely, as a b2b sometimes and often told to fall deep. Not much works under Koeman, but Koeman at least sees Busquets as an obvious starter, just like every other manager Busquets played under since he got promoted by Pep 13 years ago.
As I said, Busquets is the best there ever was, but he was always pretty dependent on the team playing the right style, just like Xavi for example.

As what? As defensive mid? He has a claim, but i don't think he was better than Matthaus or Rjikaard. Those were very good technique wise, but also very athletic.

Busquets is one of the very best, but his time is either up or very close to. As sad as that may be.
