Seydou Keita

He wasn't bad. I'd rather have played Iniesta in his place and put Pedro on the wings, but Keita did well defensively and added some steel to the midfield

Yeah, a grand total of 4! Less than any other player in the team... But let's not allow the facts to get in the away of mindless hatred, right?

ok let's say he lost only 4 balls, but just give me one good thing he did last night (and only last night I'm not talking about okay).

no attacking role except for this one time he ran on the left flank, no deffensive role as Puyol faced Nocerino and Boateng by himslef.

just say that he wasn't good enough tonight, youdon't have to defend him even if wasn't good, I was talking about last night's display of him and I thought he wasn't good and that we MIGHT have been better if Don Andres was in his place or even if Cesc had played

I see it's easier to blame a 15 mil utility player than one for which Barca payed 37 mil..or Iniesta, Messi and especially Pep(who's tactics were at fault for last night's performance).

Good fans love a Segunda B player like Keita, and bad fans like world class players.

I am definitely a bad fan by that token.

If you people are happy with Keita, then feel free to do so. I for my part consider him perfectly inadequate.

It's not like either you or me can change much at Barca.

Oh God. No Dalitis, you are behaving like a little black bird, which I'm not going to name I do not intend to call people names, that is attracted to shiny things and collects them. the shinier the player the more you want his babies. Cesc for example, the player you adore and probably won't miss the chance to place higher than Leo Messi if the chance comes around, is the perfect example of a shiny player that although still has a long way to adapt to our playing style, gets your worship. Keita on the other hand, is a player that has responded whenever has been called upon, scored league saving goals and done whatever Pep has asked him to do for the team without complaining and always has given his all, but guess what, he is the exact opposite of a shiny guy. hell even Torres is shinier than him, and thus comes your golden Segunda B opinion of him.

however if you could actually see what it takes to manage a team, you would see, that you can not have a team of 30 superstars. in a team like ours with the kind of values that Pep cherishes and has won us so many trophies, the players like Keita, Mascherano, Pedro, ect are adored as much as Leo Messi is

Dalitis logic:

Pep wants to sell Ibra, buy Cesc - :pep: clearly knows more than any of us, clearly this is proof the former is terrible and the latter is a true talent.

Pep leaves Cesc on the bench for Keita - :pep: is clueless, cost Barca the match. Dalitis should be coach.

Althoug he might not performed so well yesterday, he's one of the most useful bench players i know.

Teams can't have 3 Messis, 4 Xavis and 4 Puyol's.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
We should sell him and buy another forward like Neymar, we all know attacking players are the most important thing to have in a team...

He didnt bring that much balance to the defence, infact he lost the ball alot by taking to long time. But it was also Peps fault for not playing the setup we should have played, with Iniesta and Xavi in the mid, Keita brought nothing in the attack.
Overall he was quite bad and should have been subbed half time.

Spoken like a boss. Talking about "shiny things" ... this reminds me of this little discussion back in August 2011 after the CL group stage draws. About Manchester City:

Mancini or no Mancini, Man Citeh have assembled one of the very top squads in the world. For me, only Barca, Madrid and Man Utd can beat them (and it will be extremely tough for even them to do so as well)

AC Milan are not contenders, not by a very long shot. They cannot handle any of Spain's big 2, or England's big 4 (yes, I suspect that even Arsenal can beat them)

Man City now are prolly the 4th strongest team in Europe. Maybe 3rd.

They came 3rd last season in the Prem.

They have added more star players (Aguero, Nasri) So it's a very simple equation.

In contrast with Chelski or Inter, they are oozing with class in front, with Silva, Nasri and Aguero...

For me, the most attractive team (besides painfully beautiful Barca) are the oil-fuelled Citeh. Gotta hand it to the Arabs for bringing Aguero-Silva-Nasri into the same fold.

People were telling him to calm down even back then:

If having WC players at every position in your starting eleven meant that your team has more merit than the other, then RM would have been winning the CL every year.

But of course noobs such as yourself wouldnt know that. After all, according to gloryhunter mentality better players means better 'team'

They aren't a top club until they earn it.

Games aren't won on paper. If having good players was enough to be a "top club", Atletico wouldn't be a joke.

can you at least wait to see them play more games maybe in the cl . I could for instance totally see them getting overrun by real madrid with that defense they have which still has some clear flaws.

This one was the best response at that time:

LOL!!! wow ... you really are laying the groundwork to jump on City's bandwagon.

I'd put Chelsea and Bayern ahead of City, considering Cheslea and Bayern have players who are CL experienced. people seem to forget that this is City's first venture in to the CL. They have no idea how to deal with it. Mourinho & Real and SAF & ManUtd on the other hand are pros, balancing the CL with their respective league and cup races is in their blood. Putting Mancini and ManCity ahead of them is simply ludicrious. City faces a steep learning curve when going away to Munich, Napoli, and Villarreal and having to fly back to England to deal w/ FA Cup or EPL matches. Then the injuries mount. Players get tired. the pressure mounts. If City's lacklustre play down the stretch of the EPL season last season is any indicator of future play in the CL, then I'd actually be surprised if City made it out the group stage, much less the semis.

And of course it turned out completely right. Irv, like a Nostradamus. :worthy:

And this was dalitis' response to Irv:

Well, here is my prediction: Man City will totally annihilate their group. Napoli, Villarreal and Bayern stand no chance against Aguero/Silva/Nasri... Mancini who?

With City's players, even a monkey can come up with a fearsome team.

Anyway. you have your views, and I have mine. We 'll see who is closer to the truth, in a few weeks or so.

The constant worshipping of Cesc because of his reputation and the constant dismissing of Keita just reminded me so much of this "Citeh have Agüero, Silva, Nasri, they are the third best team in the world now" predictions back in August (before Agüero and Nasri ever kicked a ball in the City jersey), I just had to dig that conversation out again.

Keita starts a CL game instead of Cesc => dalitis is banned from the forum the very next day. Hilarious.
