Artful, every presidential move needs to be approved by the majority of members (I dont remember the exact percentage).

So if members disapprove, Rosell will need to let go of the Qatari sponsorship and the subsequent, $$.

Thats an issue that all democratic processes have to sorta deal with. You have to gain acceptance of the public for the actions that you decide on as a president and since, members are representatives themselves, these actions would need to be voted on.

Also, its very tough to call a general meeting of members multiple times during the year since it is very inconvenient for them thus, this action seems late.

I know the reality is that it's too good a deal to turn down.

But I won't buy a shirt with that logo on it.

I vote yes. we have the best players in the world leading to high wages. This coupled with burgeoning deficits from failed previous transfers means that an alternative source of revenue is required.

However, I think that the clubs finances should be re-evaluated such that the club becomes financially profitable without the sponsorship money so that in five years we can go back to having a sponsor-free shirt.

i also won't buy a shirt w/ the Qatari logo on it ... no matter how sexy an all-black Alexis Sanchez jersey looks.

I am a member and will vote for this on Saturday in Barcelona. I think we should back it, at the moment we have financial debt so I don't see another solution.
Once we are 'healthy' again we can have no sponsor on our shirts. But at the moment, it's impossible not to have one. If you look at other big teams, they all have big oil-dollar owners.. we won't be able to compete with them otherwise. Times change.

Once the rules of the game are set by a global system, there is no rationale behind moralistic grandstanding. We need that money if we are going to compete with ultra-rich Real Madrid, hugely popular and commercial Man Utd, oil-backed Citeh, and Russian backed Chelski.

I am really sorry, but reality is what it is.

I would love to see teams compete in terms of what talent they can produce, but as things stand now, you need cash, lots of cash...

I mean, what are you gonna tell Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Villa, Cesc, Sanchez? That we cannot pay you what the other top teams pay? But even more importantly, what are we gonna do during the transfer windows? Should we be pulling a "Wenger" and go for Mertesackers and Gervinhos?

Same boat...Now if I can get some of these Asian kit manufacturers on eBay to make Qatar-less knockoffs, I'm all set

This. It may not be ideal but this is the way of the world and we need to move with the times.
