Huge summer for S

Agreed. Haven't watched any this Olympics, but very very exciting spectator sport.

More so than the beach code.
Yeah I haven't watched any of the beach, but I think the fact there's a lot more players involved makes it more intense and exciting. It's like how football is more intense when you play 7 a side than 4 or 5 a side.

There's also the fact that it's obviously gonna be more inhibiting to movement and stuff playing on sand than indoor on wood or whatever.

Fuck me, just seen 3.47. That's absolutely amazing. What ability and teamwork.

It seems one of those sports where defence (as in making sure you get it over the net no matter what) is even more exciting than a brilliant spike (which is also very exciting).

That's the 1.97m stunner I posted the other day lol. I take it she's one of the best in the world?

I didn't realise you were allowed to kick the ball. Is that just in the dig?

Apparently 4th best player in the world in 2023, her team mate Melissa Vargas (she's a born Cuban but started to play for Turkey last year) was the best one. I also like Brazilian Gabi.

Paola Egonu is also playing great for Italy who have qualified to the Olympics final for the first time in their history. They play USA on Sunday and tomorrow there is a bronze medal match between Turkey and Brazil which should be a great one too.

And in men's tournament France and Poland will play the final.

That video looks superb too from watching a minute or two. Some really talented players.

I hope I can catch the women and men gold medal matches. I hope they don't clash with athletics. However, I will definitely try to catch the world championship or whatever their version of the World Cup is. I am gonna google when it is.

Futsal is another amazing sport, derivative of football that one. All these indoor 5 or 6 a side team sports with time outs are very fast-paced and require extreme skill and athleticism.

Are you a big volleyball fan mate? How long have you been watching it and have you ever played yourself?

Couldn't watch the end of the day yesterday. Not surprised though reading the man won all the way in the women's competition.
One of the highlights being a girl who was nowhere near favourite for the shot put producing the winning throw with her sixth and final attempt.
Yeah, german media covered that quite a bit. Was nice to watch, especially when she threw 1 meter further than that american mask monster. Muscle>fat.

And I couldn't watch the XX beach volleyball final :(

Second to last day today.

Yeah she did well. I did notice she was smaller and more muscular and the other competitors were fatter and more rotund. I think it was a New Zealand girl she beat to gold and to be fair the New Zealand girl gave a smile as soon as the throw went in and took it sportingly.

The New Zealand lass actually had another throw, and to the naked eye it looked longer than the 20m the German girl went, but it can't have as they measured it at 19 something. She took silver for her earlier throw anyway.

I quite enjoyed the women's heptathlon the last 2 days too. I know decathletes and heptathlete aren't specialists or world record holders, but they're still better than most people in the world at multiple events. I find it very impressive.

Didn't know they can use feet now. If i had to play volley i'd use mostly feet then lol.
It's easier for people who aren't footballers to use hands really in any walk of life, including volleyball. But yeah, if someone has a football background, it would be a major advantage and extra string to the bow to have in volleyball.
