As an extremely casual fan of tennis (know the best players, like how fun it is, but never watch it) this made me laugh. It's friendly and inviting as well as condescending at the same time.

It seems like Novak vs Roger is like Ronaldo vs Messi - one has stats and sheer numbers going for him and less artistry, whereas the other has won a lot but is more rated for being an artist and genius and preferred by most.

So what is the reason Novak is getting demolished? He lost to this guy last year too, right? Djokovic is a top three player ever, right? Is it really as simple as he's very old and well past his peak, and this is the classic tale of a much younger guy superseding an older guy?

As someone who doesn't watch much tennis I much prefer Federer (and Nadal) to Djokovic. They seem to play more aesthetic tennis. In my head I have sort of characterised Federer as Messi's analogue and Djokovic as Ronaldo's, style wise. Might be irrational but ah well.
