Agreed that it doesn't matter whether we allegedly paid to get favorite decisions or "fair" decisions, as long as the intent was to somehow influence the refs' decisions one way or the other, it is indefensible.

The problem with the extortion claim is, how come we are the only club that was paying him? No other clubs fell for his extortion scheme?

Yeah, the prosecutors (now it is the Spanish Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office) will have to prove such with concrete evidence, not succumbing to public outrage.

A couple of things:

(1) Even if we were deemed guilty, the UEFA ban will most likely take several years to materialize after all the appeals and court fights.

(2) UEFA might consider harsher measures in addition to the one-year European ban.

The seven shell companies were set up by Negreira and his son..could be to avoid tax and not evidence of trying to pay to infleunce referees on its own.
