He's not overrated but a seriously un-wise transfer.

He's not an investment we can afford, it's too late to get Thiago Silva. As much as I wish it hasn't, that train has already passed.
The club is hitting half a billion in annual revenue, he is affordable.
Silva 2010/11 season: 43 games played - 1 yellow and 0 red cards. 09/10 44 games and 3 yellow and 0 red cards. 11/12 48 games 4 yellow and 0 red.

Notice how the yellows go up. . . . That's age taking its toll. We don't want to have another Puyol case (Best defender in the club being too old) all over again in some years.

He played around 40-45 for PSG. His red card this season was an absolute farce. He blew my mind from the first game I saw him play for them. He's like Iniesta, in defense.
The rumors about the 15% cut are probably a bit off the mark. 25% would be more like it, probably 30%.
