Monster of a player.

I remember clowns such as BBZ and Raketa telling us Rakitic is better.

But he left Barcelona?! That means he's shit.

He's not tall! That means he's shit.

Meanwhile in Barcelona: spending 160m for Coutinho to play Iniesta's Role.

Like I said before, this is the year Thiago's "status" will elevate to the likes of Kevin De Bruyne simply because he's playing in England. He has been a monster for several years now, he's just going to get the exposure he never did in Germany. And suddenly all the "he's not worth 50m+" comments from earlier in this thread will look very stupid in the future.

From 2014-2016, yes but not overall

Btw, Premier league goes nuts after watching Thiago performance, wonder how they would act if Messi plays there.

Rakitic has never been better than Thiago.
In 2014-2016, Rakitic was simply playing in the best team in the world with a role that suited him: a water carrier. He was a good midfielder, but he's never been among the best in the world, never had the potential nor the skills to be among the best. Also in 2014, Thiago was a 23 years old kid who kept getting injuries, so of course nobody rated him.
When Rakitic was 23 years old, he was a bench warmer at Schalke 04.

FYI: Clowns BBZ and Raketa were saying that Rakitic is better than Thiago in 2017, in 2018 and even in 2019. So you're off topic.

As a Bayern fan it's kind of annoying seeing PL fans act like they just discovered how he's actually a great player. He's been consistently one of the best mids in the world ever since he became a starter at Bayern and he was already class at Barca, many player including me have been hyping him since years. He wasn't particularly worse in the last years, he just fully flew under the radar due to a) injuries and b) Bayern underperforming in the CL. If Bayern had gone out again this year and if he had not joined an English Team, people would still not be talking about him. I'm glad he gets the recognition he always deserved, but this is years overdue and should not have been solely trophy and PL related..

To be fair Thiago was quite controversial for a lot of Bayern fans (thats the gist I got from following german forums at the very least). His last season was undeniable though, great player.
