They lost b4cause referee fucked up 2 onside goals. It was close match up.

Sure there were mistakes but when you lose by a 4 goal margin you can't blame the refs. Pep is great for battering smaller teams but in the CL vs teams with lightning counters he comes up short these days.

In the return leg they battered Liverpool for 40 minutes. What do they have to show for it? 1 goal. You mean to tell me that if Messi and Griezmann would be in that line-up upfront, they would still have only one goal? Hell, Messi alone improves them beyond what they dream. Anyway, we went out to Roma ffs. Is that better than City going out to Liverpool? I mean, this argument would work if we'd have such a strong midfield and team.

The mid is not even the problem with that team even though they still don't have a Busi. They're going for Jorginho for a reason. They have inconsistent strikers and wingers. For as much as Sterling progressed this year, he still wastes sitters for fun. In important matches to boot. Sane is not a complete winger yet. Aguero and Jesus are hot and cold. Put Messi and Griezmann in front of that midfield and they would improve their chances in CL tenfold.

Ok, enough about City. Like MTL_Barca said, Thiago is far from a liability in defence. Dude is one of the smartest players when it comes to reading the game. Makes a good amount of interceptions by positioning himself properly akin to Xavi and Busi.

Even if you argue that we will be vulnerable, it's not like we are such a defensive force with Rakitic and Busi, that disrupting this partnership spells trouble. You have to look at what we have now before we turn our noses away at running such a line-up.

Maybe Thiago, who is injury prone, is not the solution, but we certainly have to change something in our midfield. Either players or tactics. Probably both. We can't continue this way, that much is for sure.

That MD interview was very telling. The tone of the interview is that he's willing to come back if Barca was to make a move for him, of course he can't just come out and say it. Our board would be foolish to not go get him especially if the rumored price is around 50M.

Won't happen, Barto would have to rob the bank or stop renovation of Camp Nou if he wants to sign Griezmann, Lenglet, Arthur and Thiago.

Griez is only 100m. Bayern can be flexible on prices when it comes to players they are 'willing' to sell (like Kroos), so somewhere around 50m for Thiago isn't out of the realms of possibility. We wouldn't be paying for Arthur entirely this summer, and Lenglet is rumored to be renewing.

So that would make this summer's expenditures less expensive than last summer. And if you include respective the January windows (thus Coutinho's transfer) then its even cheaper in comparison. Though we did have Neymar's fee to offset the expenses. Regardless, spending like 300m net over 4 transfer windows is hardly revolutionary in today's market and pretty necessary for this Barca side that needs to recycle its squad and inject new, hungry talent into the team. City, PSG, and United have spent far more very recently. RM spent more over the course of many years to build the championship winning squad they have today.

Well, I say it won't happen, but I secretly wish it would happen somehow:lol:. I mean we've seen some crazy stuff in the transfer market, no one expected Neymar leaving or Coutinho arriving in January transfer window, but it happened. If Thiago really wants to leave and Bayern aren't happy with his injuries history, Barto may find a way to make a deal. Although if Thiago is coming we might rethink buying Arthur then.

Thiago for 50m is a laughable fee considering his contract length. Seems more like wishful thinking than anything else.

50 mill sounds really low for a player like Thiago, but then again, Bayern pretty much gave away Kroos to us, what a bargain.
