Internal stitches on a meniscus tear I would assume. You either patch it up or remove the damaged bit

Fairly sure him getting hurt in Mourinho's 2nd season combined with fat Hazard was why Chelsea ended up so low that year.
They lost 6 of 11 that autumn with Courtois sidelined and 2 for rest of the year

Bad luck, can understand his tears. So he's pretty much out this season?
He's a match winner but Lunin's been pretty solid and with a good overall defence they can still win CL.

Ok, I didn’t know those could be permanent. Thought internal stitches were supposed to dissolve over time as otherwise body would reject them.

Clearly not if they're ruptured
That or the report is inaccurate and it's just that he has re-torn the stitched bit
Not that important really, bottom line is he has hurt the knee he's had work done on already

He's out for season by sounds of it - they're taking out the damaged part of the meniscus. Not sure if Fati or Kaka had the same done but he's not that pace reliant so might not be affected

He was threatening to save their ass again with a couple of blinding saves. He is their most important player.

A Barca keeper in goal for them tonight and it's another European humiliation.

This is the standard of goalkeeper Barca should aspire to.

Maybe I don't watch enough RM matches, but this cat is heavily underrated by many including their own fanbase. He makes so many crucial saves. He is IMO the best keeper in Europe in recent years. The scoreline in the first half could've easily been 7-1 if it wasn't for some of his completely unreal saves. Even that Balde shot to the top near the post, MATS or Pena would've froze and we would have said "That was an unstoppable shot". Our GK standards in this club are too low.

On a side note, it's also sorta amazing how Messi owned him so many times.

You're exaggerating really. None of his saves were crucial. Go and rewatch the highlights and tell me which of his saves were unreal? Pretty standard stuff to parry for a top GK really.

Courtois ships 5 goals like a bum - he's underrated. Our GKs ship 5 and it's the end of the world.

Courtois had some other games were he was unreal. This was not one of them. And people just close their eyes when it comes to his blunders.

Yes, he is the best GK around. Not in any way underrated.
