How reliable is this guy?

Also, imagine this is true and Lemar will reject them. At least Wenger could say that he almost signed him.

Anyway, for 100M we should go after him. Though Monaco would ask more from us.

If he is not going to Liverpool we should try everything we can to hijack him. But then again our club is run by imbeciles so no.

100m for lemar?
That's the definition of panic buy, What a waste, I'd rather we sign no one, And wait for next season.

Will be just the same next season, if not worse considering the World Cup is going to inflate a lot of fees.

This summer window is the absolute peak of crazy figures, The only direction left for these prices is down.
Let's remember why the market went crazy in this window, It's because the main sugar daddy clubs, PSG and Manchester city, Went berserk in this window, They spent at their absolute limit, They can't do it two years in a row, It's impossible.
Sure maybe in 2-3 years they'll go nuts again, But not next year.

PSG spent nothing this summer. ;)

Wont go down by much.

PSG will spend regardless. Barca and Real will spend big to get players they want and EPL tv money will continue to drive it up.

Great young players going for 120-150m will be fairly normal.

It's always crazy in a World Cup year.

So if it's still crazy next year, what do we do then? Sign no one again? What if it goes down next year, but all our options are gone?

We're not Arsenal, although it seems like the club is lowering people's expectations to that level.

My problem with lemar isn't purely because of the price tag, But the fact we'll be spending 100m on the wrong PROFILE, He doesn't have the attributes to be a starter for our midfield.
Coutinho costs much more than him, But at least we all agree he'll fit us like a glove.

If the prices don't come down next season, fine, But at least we'll have time to find players that are actually suitable for us, And worth the insane money we're going to throw at them, We can try for eriksen next year, or even coutinho again...etc

World transfer hasn't been broken in WC year for years now, happened more in the year before it actually. If anything year before the world cup seem to be worse

James went to Real Madrid for 80m based on his performances in the World Cup. He was already a good player before, but would have cost less before it.

What if there are not any viable options next year and the ones that remain, does well in the World Cup like that so their prices go up to the double of what they would originally cost?

You said all summer things would be under control and here we are. Next year it'll be even worse.

One of the midfielders we could have signed just went to Liverpool for 50-60m in a transfer that will happen next year.

There goes your planning and there goes your scouting for players suitable for us.

And people thinking the board will get ousted are wishing for a miracle not knowing what happened in 2008.

When Laporta survived back then, it set a precedent for what will happen now with the press backing the board.
