One of the most dangerous Player. His finishing is so bad but his runs are absolutely nightmare to play against. Dias looked shocked and clueless against him and the goal was 50% on him

Imo Werner is way better than Dembele, regarding finishing both are trash but Dembele hasnt got the IQ for making these runs from Werner and also in terms of creating chances Werner is superior to dembele.

Werner's technique is very solid in all aspects except shooting. A better player than Dembele who only has better speed over him. And he scores a golazo every 7-8 games, usually in minor games with low pressure. And it's not like Werner is slow in the speed area.

Werner is actually like a combination of Griezmann and Dembele. Like 70% Griezmann and 30% Dembele.

Lol let's not get carried away. They both totally sucked this season. Here's a quick glance at the stats. I added Grizzi to make it interesting

Expected Goals/Goals per 90: Werner 0.41/0.21 _ Dembele 0.29/0.30 _ Grizz 0.48/0.45
Passing: Werner 77.2% _ Dembele 82.5% _ Grizz 87.4%
Passes Completed per 90: Werner 22.1 _ Dembele 42.8 _ Grizz 40.7
Shot Creating Actions per 90: Werner 2.94 _ Dembele 4.16 _ Grizz 3.04
Goal Creating Actions per 90: Werner 0.66 _ Dembele 0.46 _ Grizz 0.35
Takl+Int per 90: Werner 1.18 _ Dembele 1.57 _ Grizz 1.80
Attempted Dribbles per 90: Werner 2.73 _ Dembele 6.09 _ Grizz 1.31
% of Dribbles completed successfully: Werner 38% _ Dembele 61.7% _ Grizz 65.8%
Aerial duels won %: Werner 24.1% _ Dembele 40% _ Grizz 50%
Fouls committed per 90: Werner 0.93 _ Dembele 0.76 _ Grizz 0.45

Werner's fortes are his cardioman work rate, smart positioning, positive attitude and runs behind defense creating space for his mates like Serghei mentioned yesterday. The one criticism other than his poor finishing (26 Big Chances missed) is his offside awareness:
Offsides per 90: Werner 0.90 _ Dembele 0.56 _ Grizz 0.45

Bet a lot of the posters wishing he'd be here would be cursing him to death considering his lack of defensive contribution + the 26 Big Chances he'd missed this season and his 26 offsides. Dude would fuck up Messi's assist stats way more than Bouze and Grizz.

Still think of all 3, Dembele's got the highest Sistine Chapelle ceiling. Too bad he's been stuck in the basement

Werner is one of the worse N9 i saw in a big club, people praising his Cardio work and saying his finishing is terrible .... which is the MAIN job of a N9 ..

He is lucky Chelsea won otherwise those terrible finishes he missed would have turned to yet another meme compilation.

Tuchel already criticized him publicly, next season if he have the budget Werner will be benched.

My thoughts exactly. Another hype job that can't finish a meal.

Werners finishing been abysmal this season but last night shows how much plaayers with pace and workrate can matter to a game plan and choices coach has.

Finishing terrible but City were dragged all over place by his movement

This hasn't the case for most part in past decade, most great scorer/players were either second strikers or wingers.
Number 9 had to settle for setting them, play with their back to the goal and open spaces for other attackers.
There is a slight shift in that past 2 years with Lewa at Bayern and Halaand coming as top young player in the world, but for most part Werner open things to Chelsea even if he doesn't score.
Obviously, it is still critical to score, and he is terrible at that but you can't ignore the rest of what he does. He was big part of the goal Kai scored.
