Your point?

Just bc at some point in time a person has had contact with Real Madrid doesn't mean we should immediately write them off. Both played for Madrid but both enjoyed their best years as players here. Especially considering Landrup's record with Swansea and the quality of football they played, I see no reason why not to go after Landrup. His move makes the most sense out of all the options we have.

My preference:

1. Landrup
2. Rijkaard (not sure why we aren't hearing more about him)
3. Luis Enrique

I wasn't terribly impressed from what I saw from Enrique's spell in Roma but he has an abundantly more talented squad here than he did there. All three would be welcome candidates from my viewpoint and I think all three have the knowledge of our style of football necessary to continue our legacy.

We just need someone who can match the tactical nous that Ancelotti possesses bc we still have a better and more unified squad than Madrid do.

Well, Laudrup left Barça for rm, Lucho left rm for Barça. This is quite different.

We need a coach. Bad.

His move wasn't nearly as contentious as say Figo and there is no denying the fact that he was a key part of the OG dream team.

He should has much of a general sense of the intricacies of Cryuff's system. Whether or not it's Pep level, most likely not but he makes up for that with his experience in the PL.

Point being, I don't see a reason to disregard a very viable candidate to take over this team simply bc played with Madrid. He is one of many players who have crossed over.

It's probably going to be Enrique in all honesty tho which I wouldn't mind. He is a very demanding coach and a stickler on effort and physical fitness. It's something this team could benefit from and if the players get behind him, it could work.

This. We need a coach and Laudrup fits well. Just because he played for Madrid doesn't mean he should automatically be ruled out.

He wouldn't be well received in Barcelona. At least from a part of the cules, and this could be a problem. I know I wouldn't be confortable with him as coach.

It was the best decision made by Tito to step down as coach before the season start.Atleast new coach will have some quality time with the players.

But we all miss Tito.Good luck Tito.Hope u get well soon..

Hope Tito will get well soon and a huge respect to him for what he has done for Barca.

As I remember, Laudrup left to make a statement. Cruyf didn't use him in important matches and Laudrup wanted to show it was a mistake. RM won the league and I still remember our 5-0 defeat in his first season there. Many cules understood his reasons back then and I think Figo's move was a Judas move. Laudrup made a bad move for the club, but I inderstand why and it wasn't for money.

I think he is the best decision as a coach and would love to see what he can do with the best club.

This is true and although it is a bit petty, I could see why some fans would be turned off by it. We have options tho.

Tito should be remembered for showing that with the proper guidance this team is still untouchable. After all we were all raving about Tito in the first half of the season...sidenote I can't help but feel that a fucking disease singlehandedly derailed our season which is damn shame, this why all of this "end of an era" talk is bullshit. Full strength, this team has yet to have been truly bested, Bayern just caught us when we were weakened. Shame, get well Tito...

Anyway, Enrique could work. He would bring Pep's demanding nature back and I guarantee the pressing will be back instantly. I do question whether or not he could get the best out of both Messi and Neymar tho.

Cue in Rijkaard.

Rijkaard's era fell short bc R10 fell apart. He never got to manage Messi in his prime. Look how much Pep got out of Messi, Rijkaard has shown he can bring the best out of his star players.

Plus factor in this guy :neymar:

He has the ability to create Ronaldinho 2.0, and can still hedge his bets bc he can rely on Messi-ah. He also has a keen eye for talent, something that could greatly help the club later on with both la masia grads and in the market.

He is a dark horse selection by all means but he has everything we desperately need right now. Hopefully he could pull Piqué's head out of his ass.

Looks like Tata Martino will be the new coach. How the hell did they come up with this unknown name? Sandro Rosell is destroying the club guys. He shouldn't have kept Tito this long in the first place. Now instead of approaching a top coach, he's going for Martino...May God be with us!!!

"Thank you Barça, thank you everyone

After five marvellous years forming part of a team that has made what any manager dreams of come true, the time has come to face a change in my professional career in order to put my strength and energy into continuing the process of the illness that was diagnosed a year and a half ago.

The treatments that I am going to have to undergo from now on does not make it recommendable, in the doctors’ opinion, for me to dedicate one hundred per cent of my effort to being the first team manager of a team as demanding as FC Barcelona, but I shall be staying close by and will be continuing to work for the Club that I love so much in other jobs in the sports area.

It is not easy to leave such a special group of people, the players, my fellow staff and friends with whom I have shared so many unforgettable experiences. I am eternally grateful for everything that they have given and shown to me. The human and footballing qualities of this team can overcome any obstacle and I am convinced that they will be able to use that capacity to face the new sporting challenges of a season that everybody has such high hopes for.

I would also like to especially thank the president, the whole of the Board of Directors, and the director of sport Andoni Zubizarreta for all the trust they have put into me and especially for their unconditional support, both sporting and personal. Just as important to me has been the human and medical support of Doctor Ramon Canal and his team, who have been by my side. I know that I am not playing this match alone, but I form part of a Club that will help me get through this long process, as it has done until now.

To you, the Barça members and supporters, I also want to say thank you for all the shows of support and affection that you have sent me, not just now but all these last months. I can tell you that that I feel calm and strong, and I am facing this new stage of the process in the full confidence that it will all go well.

Thank you very much too to all the football fans, fellow professionals, clubs, athletes and people that I do and do not know for all the messages of support that have brought so much comfort to me and my family.

These are difficult times for my loved ones and that’s why I am asking for respect and understanding from the media. Now that I am no longer Barça manager, I hope to enjoy the peace and privacy that both me and my family need at a time like this.

I couldn’t finish this letter without wishing lots of luck and every success to the new manager of the best team in the world.

Thank you everybody.

Tito Vilanova"

Tito's departure statement shows the same class he has exemplified over his Barca career. Becoming first team coach was a big jump for him. The 100 points in La Liga was a tremendous accomplishment. Best wishes for him in the fight for his life.

When Luis Enrique was Barca B coach, he looked like the future coach of the first team. The results were superb, player development was superb, the team played the Barca style. The Roma team he took over was rotten, the players had a disgusting attitude, which showed improvement under Enrique. So different from the current Barca squad, the situations can't be compared. He will be the least disruptive new coach, he won't get in the way of one of the greatest teams ever assembled, which is a key consideration for this season. I would recommend a short-term contract, so that a big-time coach can be brought in later if necessary.

I just hope they don't sign that idiot AvB or do a mistake like this anytime soon, they should think hard about it or it's prolly going to be Roura.

I'm pretty sure we won't do much shit in the next years anyway, maybe a La Liga.

They're gonna do a worse one. They're gonna bring Tata Martino, a coach with no big achievements and no European experience at all. Looks like Rosell likes the rhyme...Tito is out Tata is in. We're doomed . Rosell should go!
