His goal aside though, he has been quite bad this world cup, though i do think he stepped it up in the 2nd half overall, not just the goal.
But idk about the tactical instructions the coach is giving him, Kroos isnt supposed to run up and down the field covering counter attacks, i mean, he can help, sure, but he is way too slow to be the one to rely upon in those situations, they need a 3rd man in midfield to support him.

But in a team where a cb thinks he is a striker, what can you expect? Someone got to cover.

Not saying it excuse his lackluster performances, but it seems that Loew or whoever has this idea that Kroos would be great as a box to box midfielder, the last midfielder to cover for the CBs even though he is about as slow as a turtle. Kroos is excellent, but he needs help on these counter attacks, especially seeing as one of the CBs is a retard (sorry Boateng).

Wouldnt really want connect it to a single player, but man, Boateng was acting like a striker half of the time, and then he got the red card which he should have recieved about an hour earlier already, like wtf? I guess he just had "one of those days" were nothing worked out, but he was abysmal on the day.

It doesnt help that Germany as a whole looked disorganized for a big portion of the game, but ironically, they actually looked better once Boateng got sent off.

Lazy and careless passing '

One of his first misplaced passes resulted directly in their goal - he gave stupid pass which was intercepted he then ran back to correct his mistake but didn't really try very hardb so they scored . Ten minutes later he gave the ball away carelessly BUT didn't even bother to chase back !!
Then his marvellous goal saved his bacon
