cesc for kos seems like it would make both sides fans happy

We'd pretty much be replacing one problem with another. I'm trying to think of other pacey, intelligent CBs, but all I can think of are the ones way out of our price range like Hummels, Thiago Silva, etc. Thank god Barca have other names on their list, because if he really had his head turned and wanted to leave, I don't think Wenger would stand in his way. Song was contracted till 2016 and played every game when fit, and left the moment he wanted to.

As I recall , Hummels is slow and cumbersome plus error prone.

Roma turned down a 20m bid from Madrid, I doubt we value him that highly.

That was a rumor. Besides, I can see us paying a little more. Weren't we rumored to have made a 25m bid for him at one point?

No,It was rumored that we are interested but Roma won't sell him for less than 25 and we think that is too expensive
