Still, one away goal can make the damage. Its better to have a safe defense than to be in danger conceding a goal even in the last minutes. We will surely be better in attack with him as they wont have all the attention on Messi. But still one moment of bad defending can cause you problems

Yip hence why both were just as big a problem as each other.

It is unlikely that Barcelona will keep clean sheets every big game even under Pep at his best that did not happen.

Attack just as important.

Having the refs not giving a couple of illegal goals would help the defense. Having a fit Busi would help the defense. Having a fit Messi keeping Bayern wary would help the defense. Having Neymar keeping Bayern more wary would help the defense. Having a fit Puyol or Masch would help the defense. Having improved tactics would help the defense. Having a double pivot, or even just Song as a more physical CM would help the defense. All of those are possibilities even without a signing. Heck, even Bartra with another years experience would help the defense.

Even all that aside, the much maligned defense we had was still good enough to get 100 points and Champions League semi final. Overall it's still a good transfer window as the team is improved. A CB would be great, but not getting one isn't a complete disaster for the coming season as the club is still favourite for La Liga and second favourite for Champions League.

I guess you like those close games where the score is 1 down. I like those too

No they wouldnt they had not attacking threat to worry about and were able to stamp their authority and play their own game without worrying about Barcelona.

Just look a the difference Messi made by being on the pitch against PSG it switched their mentality and made them uneasy in even attack.

Obviously Neymar not on Messi level but the point is the games would have been far less controlled by Bayern if Barcelona had any attacking threat to speak of.

We would. We didnt even get the ball to the attackers in the first place

Manchester United, who made a first 30M bid, are confident they can sign Cesc Fabregas this summer. [mirro telegraph guardian independent]

 just like they were 'confident' that Thiago had already agreed a deal with them

Whatever happened to Hummels? Wasn't he our big target for a while before the season ended?

Also, I just read this. It seems that Rosell is hopeful of signing Silva. So the title suggests.
http://espnfc.com/news/story?id=1499606&cc=5901

"Thiago Silva is a player we want - the board as much as the coach," Rosell is quoted as saying to Catalan television channel 8tv according to Marca. " When it comes to him, the price is not an issue.

"We are negotiating with people for whom money is not a factor. And if they're not willing to sit down and talk, we can't do anything. It's a matter of the player convincing them to come over here and start negotiating."

Rosell was also questioned about comments from former coach Pep Guardiola, who suggested there was a rift between him and the club's president after accusations the Bayern boss failed to visit Vilanova as he was treated for cancer.

"We've very surprised by his statement. You can verify what we've said about the best manager in the history of the club in the newspaper archives," Rosell added. "His words surprised me because when you're accused of something there should be some proof. We would never use Tito's illness and that's why I don't understand."

It's very odd, that's for sure. I believe it might have something to do with Moyes inexperience in bidding for the top tier of the transfer market.

Just lost the player we never would have lost if we didn't sign Cesc in the first place so this deal definitely isn't happening. The main body of text in most stories is about his game time and it affecting his World Cup place in the Spain NT.....Bullshit, he's in that squad even if his leg is broken.

Cesc will get all the minutes he can handle this season w/ Thiago gone.

He nearly starts every game for La Roja already.

This is one of the dumbest bids I have heard of in a long time. It's right up there w/ Anzhi trying to activate Messi's buyout clause.

There must be some chance of him leaving but it's just scary that we are conducting our transfer activities like a kid playing Football Manager....Even if it's down to Moyes' inexperience there must be someone telling him Fabregas? What are u Crazy?

There seems to be this myth that claims he doesn't get game time.

Marseille player Mathieu Valbuena is not a priority for Barcelona. They count on Sergi Roberto. Focus on centre back and goalkeeper. [marca]
