Cesc or Sergi Roberto can rotate with Xavi. People need to let go of the "Xavi role", the team will have to find a slightly different way of playing without him. There's no need for another midfielder, unless it is to warm the bench.
Actually there is need of another midfielder.Fabregas isnt really a CM and comparing anyone with Xavi is irrelevant.Fabregas is a clear attacking midfielder and performs better in that role. The problem with our midfield is that we dont have too much defensive power in it,Xavi and Iniesta cant provide cover. The best thing for us would be a player like Gundogan who works as box to box and has defensive and attacking abilities..

That's why the midfield will have to evolve, with cesc and iniesta. Xavi will still play a good amount of games, so saying we should get gundogan makes little sense. He is a starter for bvb, he won't come to barça to be on the bench. Just need to look what happened with Thiago. There's no need for one more.

Well in my thought he isnt for the bench,we'll see how Xavi does this season but i just cant see Cesc working in that role of CM.Iniesta is too good where he plays to have him more back,we need his involvement upfront.Fabregas transfer never made sense to me coming in that time

Xavi isn't going to be benched this season yet, though. I hope he's rested more, but even then, any player coming would be 2dn fiddle to him. Maybe next summer a good midfielder will need to come, if Cesc doesn't step up. But right now it makes no sense. Sergi Roberto also deserves a shot.

Exactly. Great players are unique. Coaches utilize their skills and play them in positions they do their best. One great player can't be a copy of another great player however immensely talented he is. When Xavi goes, whoever comes in as CM - he will mould the position in his position. When Messi hangs his boot, will the replacement player be asked to play at false 9 and produce goals/assists similar to messi ? Heck we may not even play with the 4-3-3 after a few years.

I still think every team needs a playmaker, more so in Spaninsh football. Neither Iniesta and definatly not Cesc fit in that role. I agree with Meitux. People are just to hanged up on that people want a new Xavi. Thats not possible, but you can have a similiar player.
The games we have seen with Iniesta/Cesc it has not worked at all.

Xavi is still here, though. He's not retired, and I can see Tito playing him on at least 40 games easily. So Cesc and Roberto for rotating are enough.

PSG, Monaco, Man City and Anzhi are monitoring the situation of Lionel Messi at Barcelona. They would all be willing to pay 120M. [as]

Do you guys think our transfer-policy will change after Tito is about to resign today? I can see the board buying someone like Agger after Tito cant demand for TS anymore.
