Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool fans are being a bit delusional about this. They attach so much meaning to a corporate entity and then can't understand why millionaires won't do the same when so much money and glory is at stake. How many of you would voluntarily make 30% less money and achieve less in life just so Liverpool are x% more likely to win the league?

I still think players are a bit reluctant to leave. We don’t really travel all that well in general but you’re right that it is happening more often now.
Trent is very close with Jude Bellingham so that probably makes the decision a bit easier.

Not too sure he’d make the step if he wasn’t there.

I think it's more about the premium placed on England players in England than anything else. They don't move because in most instances they'll be paid less, and the clubs generally don't want them because they know they'll still have to overpay compared to what they might get elsewhere. The money in the Premier League skews everything.

Kinda reminds me of Luis Suarez, whom we bought for 80-85m back in 2014. To this day I have Liverpool fans as friends and they call him "a rat". How dare he leaves the greatest club on the planet to join Barca? Well, lots of reasons when you think of it, even personal.

Nah. Barca was a huge step up at that point. We were mediocre and a fallen giant. It was logical that he'd prefer Barca as they were levels above us.

Today things are different.

Totally different scenarios. Also Suarez is a Latin American mercenary not an academy product. None of us expected loyalty from him. He wanted to leave us for Arsenal FFS.

I'm talking about my local Liverpool community around me. The fact he gave his body and soul during 2013/14 for Liverpool during that run, only to be booed at Anfield during 2018/19 CL semi-final. I don't know. Also I don't know whether he's been ever acknowledged by Liverpool since he left the club. You are to prove me wrong, since I don't belong to the club culture.

I think they were alright with him until he celebrated against them at the Camp Nou.

But I think you’re right they barely acknowledge him now. It probably helps that they went on to have a more successful period after he left so they found new players to worship instead.

Even if he did leave, he’d want to be back in England within a season. Someone mentioned it before I can see it being an Owen situation.

Sometimes a player and a club are perfectly matched and this is what I think he has in Merseyside.

I really like him as a player, when he’s on it there’s not too many better chance creators in football but he lacks the character of someone like Bellingham to survive in the pressure cooker of Madrid.

If he wants to win a bdor that is one reason more not to go to Madrid

No chance he would ever win it over Mbappe, Vinicius, Jude as a fullback when they win the CL

Look at Carvajal, nobody in Madrid even pushed for it to happen
