Monaco didn't have to score. Their methodology was based upon that fact. They could have created more chances because your defense isn't that strong, but why? They did their scoring in game 1, and looked more impressive going forward in the first leg than either team in either tie. They deserved to go through, Arsenal did not.

Monaco almost failed to qualify. Not scoring at home is pretty bad, arsenal almost reverted a 3-1 lead. They were lucky. If monaco had scored, that match would be done.

Yes, Monaco was complete garbage. I know this sounds like I'm butthurt, but they were not anywhere near quality, their offense consisted purely of kick and run, which is why they had maybe one or two chances today when our defense and midfield didn't have a collective brain aneurysm

And going forward we were extremely unlucky, Giroud had his only truly bad game in the first leg, we missed chances we normally would have scored, Monaco parked the bus hard, and we should have got a penalty

Oh well. Now we focus on the FA cup and finishing 3rd
If Monaco is garbage then what is Arsenal?

You know, this one team that lost 1-3 at home against a garbage team.

:VdB:

I don't mean to mock you or anything, but that's how it is. Saying Monaco is garbage over and over won't erase what has happened: Arsenal did garbage and got kicked out/

That's completely ridiculous. The sole reason they even scored in the first leg is because we gave the ball away for no reason in the dumbest situations, and because our defenders made careless mistakes in 1v1s. We didn't do either of those things today, which is why they had no chances. Do you really think Monaco's coach told them to go and attack in the first leg? Do you really think Monaco's coach told them today, "We need to defend, so please lose the ball as soon as you get in the final third"? Monaco didn't win this tie, Arsenal lost it

Surely the team that makes the dumb mistakes are the ones who dont deserve to go through?

I don't see how that's logical

You dont see it as logical that the team that makes three 'dumb' mistakes dont deserve to go through?

No wonder you have such a blinkered view on this tie then.

This years Atletico is not miles ahead of Arsenal, it would be a close thing.

i still think this year's atleti would be too much for them. not sure arsenal can survive the siege mentality and fangs of the calderon. don't forget this years atleti beat madrid 4-0 and sent neymar home with bloody boots.

You remind me so much those PSG fans that argued for days and days that PSG should have won last year against Chelsea.

See it as an advice, but arguing over a defeat over and over, trying to explain why you lost. Trying to say "you were better", etc.

It won't make you feel any better and in the end, it's useless. That won't change the result.
