All 3 years Pep has come up against the best team of the competition in the semi. You would have to give Real huge credit for beating Atleti if they do, but no one can act like run-in doesn't play a huge part in it. It means they'll be way fresher than Bayern or especially Barca were.

That said, that's not anyone's fault and I'm not really sure what to do with that info. It simply is what it is; luck of the draw.

Edit: Oh, and, yeah that game was absolutely fantastic. Just Atleti (or City do the business now).

well the years before that they put two spanish sides out.
But this one it was one the better semifinals, felt like Bayern really deserved it, but Atleti defended with all they have and were also the better team in the first leg where Bayern gave it away. Really awful to think about the ifs and whens, but despite my disapointment, this was a great game by Bayern and desite that one mistake by Boateng I don'T feel like blaming anything for it. Played great and lost by the away goal rule, that's better than the other 2 times.

Depends on how you look at it. The other two times you were playing two teams with about 600m budget and the two best players in the world, teams filled with superstars on almost every position. This time you were eliminated by a worse team than you. The nature of the CL brought you down, like it did with us. You play this Atletico team 5 games, and you win 3, lose 1 and draw 1 probably. But tonight was the night you missed chances and were punished on one of the few mistakes you did in the game.

Pep has nothing to feel sorry for btw.

Hard not to be impressed by Atleti. Dislike that whole 'anti-football' tag a lot.

Athleti are somehow beginning to evoke memories of the Valencia side during the early 2000's. Impressively qualifying for two successive finals before ultimately failing at the summit. I fear it could be the same once again this time with Athletico. In this case it's not back to back finals but you get my drift.

Atleti deserve to go through in my opinion.
I'm happy because I trust Cholo, he won't fail twice against Madrid in Milano.

Let's win the domestic double and congratulate Atleti after they'll win UCL.

Trying to get the reaction of some Bayern fans. Seeing wether they feel robbed, blame Pep, cry or be as relaxed as I am.
I'm disappointed but I don't feel like anything was bad about the game. Should have scored a third yes, missed a pen yes, stupid goal to give away yes, but this was like the type of Bayern that I like, when they work for the shirt they wear.
Very little mistakes, just that they were punished immediately by an excellent and effective opponent. I was so furious during the first leg, not because of the result but because there were Bayern players jogging during the build-up play. I didn't see anything like that today. Determined performance, still won, yet lost, that's football but I think I can still sleep good tonight. Atleti really deserve this final.
