Both Manchester teams were easily the better sides in the two games.

Man Utd should have won by more and City totally dominated game although looked suspect on the break.

Can hardly write off winning by pens. The only goal against Man City was a pen anyway.

Gladbach's goal came out of open play. I don't believe either Manchester team were dominate, hence the score lines and the way said wins were earned.

Did you watch the games and not PSG?

I was flicking between the two and the Manchester teams were the better sides and stuck both on to win at HT.

Not all one goal wins cant have a much better side.

I think Wolfsburg lost deservedly to United, but 2-1 is alright. United had 2-3 great chacnes to score another, but so had Wolfsburg in the later second half.

I'm more baffled about the Gladbach team. City did have chances, but Gladbach was clearly dominating, Hart is always overdoing it against german teams.
And the ref was something else this game:
Gave Gladbach a pen after a clear dive.
Then denied Gladbach a pen after a clear foul, and even booked Stindl for alleged diving.
Then denied Gladbach ANOTHER pen after an obvious handball.
Then 5 seconds prior to the City equalizer the ball was already IN gladbachs goal by more than a half meter, but it didnt count.

City then won by a last minute penalty and killed the madness of this game.
It should be added that this pen was alright though.
but Gladbach was hella unlucky.

Looking at stats Man City had over 60% possession, had 23 chances and 11 corners.

Not definitive but on stats Man City were the dominant side. Although they did get caught on break it always looked to me they were the stronger side.

I had two matches going on my monitor. PSG, and then rotating between Manchester teams.

I thought United was better than Wolfsburg, but not by so much that a draw would have been undeserved imo. City on the other hand weren't the better side at all.

City had most of their chances inside a short peiod of the game, similar to Wolfsburg last 15mins against United. And they had often shot straight from rebounds or blocks again, which kinda boosted the statistics. Its far from undeserved that City won, but Gladbach did really look visually dominant for most periods. Otamendi brought City back into it, and then City had the epxerience to seal the win. Its far from undeserved though, but Gladbach really was unlucky.

3-0 win against Shaktar, a strong team at home.

Very good first half, with a total domination. The second half was clearly for Shaktar, the midfielders (Verratti and especially Matuidi) were not good. Matuidi started like a bomb, now his form decreases

Ibra scores (with the help of Srna), but what a difficult match... His old injury affectes him... Sad, his preseason matchs were very promising... but an injury at his age, it's difficult to back in form. Now Pauleta and Ibra have the same total of goals with the colors of Paris S.G.

Strong defense, with an amazing performance of David Luiz, Aurier (1 goal tonight +important saves), and Maxwell. T.Silva was good like ever.

Not good finishing for Di Maria in 3 clear hot situations...

And Blanc doesn't choose Pastore as a starter ... Well, it's official, i hate him. No semi-finals for Blanc this year => OUT.

Agreed. But Ibra is still 1 behind since it was an own goal:p

At half time I thought Man City looked better in possession and stats like set pieces tell in the end.

Their defending was poor at times but I backed Man City at HT as thought they were better side and possession would tell in end.

Wolfsburg never got the better of Man Utd in any of those stats. City dominated in them.

A bit harsh haha! They both were pretty impressive and gave both manchester teams a good game. Wolfsburg were the best team to come to OT this year so far. I don't understand the whole rodriguez hype though? Everytime i have seen him he has looked poor and last night was no different. Mata and Martial made him look stupid a few times.

Congratulations to Manchester City, they finally have more goals scored in the Champions League than Thomas Muller. New record!
