I agree completely, not having Godin to organize the defense could hurt them a lot.

But at the same time the way that they have managed seamlessly transition young players into the starting XI like Saul, Giminez and Oblak after losing experienced players like Arda, Miranda and Courtois, gives me reason to believe.

Well, if they put on a performance around the same level that they played against us, I think Bayern should be very worried.

Edit: I'm going to predict 2-0 for Atletico.

Yeah ,they have some of the best young players in the world
If they are able to replace their FBs soon ,they will have a team to fear for the next 6 years .

Well, they chose to play either of those center backs over Savic, and not all of those guys seamlessly transitioned. Saul played against RM in the quarters and was pretty lost out there. Famously Griezmann needed time to play 90 minutes too. Even their center backs really benefit from all the cover in front of them, and it's not like they haven't had their mistakes (see: Gimenez vs Depor). And it's not as if Courtois was experienced either. In the end they benefit from having experience in some places and legs in others.

Anyway, I don't hate Bayern half as much as you lot, I wouldn't shout for a Liga rival regardless (they deserved to beat us but fuck them smearing us too), and I love Pep. I wouldn't be heart broken by Atleti winning it, though. Either way, this is gonna be fascinating to watch.

Don't know about others but I don't hate Bayern at all, just don't want them to win a second treble. Plus Atletico would be a more interesting winner than Bayern.

I see your pov but don't agree. That Chelsea team had some legendary players. City does not have a target man like Drogba for example, or a midfielder like Lampard. Those Chelsea players had experience in CL, experience City does not have at this level.

If City have as much luck as Chelsea did back then, they will win this. No doubt about it. It wasn't about experience, it was about every team they played somehow managing to bottle a million tap ins. It's a miracle they didn't concede 5 in each game against Bayern and Barca. A freaking Segunda team could have won the CL with that amount of luck.

Bayern: Neuer, Lahm, Martínez, Alaba, Bernat, Alonso, Vidal, Thiago Alcântara, Coman, Costa, Lewandowski. #UCL

Pep benches Mr. Bayern Munich.

Altético is a tough team to beat. Even with Godin out they have players who can strike back a counter and I've seen El Niño work marvels at this level. I would very surprised should Bayern go through.

I don't even know what to say anymore. If this works, hail Pep. If it doesn't, I hope he has a miserable time at City.

I'm actually speechless at Bayern's defense. Play two make-shift CB pair against Atletico's monstrous pressing is a massive gamble. I also feel like grandpa Alonso is going to get run over in midfield.

Anyways, Atletico's XI:

Atlético: Oblak, Juanfran, Giménez, Savić, Filipe Luís, Gabi, Fernández, Saúl Ñíguez, Koke, Griezmann, Torres. #UCL

Everything as expected except Savic at CB.
