If Serie A overtakes the PL at the end of the season, would it mean that they have 3 CL spots already in 2016/2017 or just 1 season later?

I think it would be one season later.
Does not look good for Serie A though. Lazio is through but Juve is the only other team who has a chance. ManUtd, ManCity and Tottenham will make it for England and Chelsea could make it too.
Liverpool as well.

It's close, Italy is already "leading" at the start of 2016/2017, EPL has to make 500 points more than them this year to maintain the 3rd spot
And its only close this year. The next 2 years the EPL has to absolutely own the Serie A.
Can anyone tell me why Serie. A is ascending? Because Juventus reached the CL final last year? Their EL teams are doing well as well?
Not that close really.
The EPL is over three points ahead and would guess by end of this season the way things are going it will be nearer six or seven points.
EPL is closer to Germany in second.
By the end of the season the season 11/12 would fall out of the roster (England had ca. 15.000 and Italy ca. 11.000). This is a huge blow for EPL
As you can see the list ranks Italy at 3rd spot at the begin of 16/17 which would mean that they will not start into 17/18 with a 3rd spot.
Remember co-efficient points are not in effect for this round of europa.
