Paco has scored for Valencia again. I'm not fond of stealing talent from la liga clubs but he is almost exactly what people here would want in a "plan B" striker. 10 goals in 15 starts, about 6ft tall, very good poacher/finisher, and only 20 years old.
He'd be able to sub in late for big games to be the #9 that occupies defenders or gives us some extra dimension in attack. He could easily rotate around in Liga games for decent game time while putting Messi in a free role around the center/right. If we were to sell Alexis, Tello, Cuenca, and Afellay in the next couple of years we'd have an attack like this:
Messi as false 9, Neymar as creative/goalscoring LW, Pedro support/goalscoring LW/RW, Deulofeu (or Adama) direct goalscoring LW/RW, Paco as #9. That's a large variety of different profiles with some goalscorers, creators, dribblers, finishers, support players, etc.
*Note that this is for a few years down the line as Alexis shouldn't be sold this summer, Deulofeu and Adama both aren't ready for roles with increased responsibility, and Neymar isn't yet a consistent goalscorer for us.
