Come on man. Saying Van Persie is as good as Rooney is kind of delusional, but saying Rooney is as good as Messi is equally ore more delusional.

At the end of the day, consistency is what matters most and just like Van Persie's few months of good form aren't enough to be on a par with Rooney, Rooney has never managed to reach a level of outrageous brilliant consistency that even warrants a comparison with Messi.

The only players we've lost in recent years and haven't wanted to lose have been Fabregas, Flamini and Nasri(and only one of them was world class.) Possibly Henry too although I think Wenger thought it would be best for all parties involved if he left.
