Victor Osimhen

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
Napoli wanted Man Utd to pay 110m + Cristiano Ronaldo while paying his wages for Osimhen last summer.

As a straight up transfer they would have probably asked for 120m+. This upcoming summer they might ask for 130m+. Was never going to happen.

De Laurentiis was straight up shitting on us too when he said what money we would sign Koulibaly with

Short term is important. Club can't afford to go at it like Arsenal, swimming in mediocrity for 6-8 years until they get ready to fight for big titles again. You have 1 trophyless season at Barca, and everyone loses their marbles.

Bottom line you have to spend big. Not just one summer, but several in a row. Like other clubs are doing.

Can't explain that to him, he doesn't get it.

Was also cash considering everything we had to invest was loaned, and we also had to invest loaned money in reducing the debt.

Exactly. Short term does matter. It mattered in CL also.

But not one is claiming buy a striker for the future or one that could not have been expected to perform short AND long term.

Never In a million years.

But amortisation.

Nope.

Their president said it would be hard to turn down 100m.

Look how much Koulibaly went for in end.. a lot less than was being claimed not long before.

Everyone & their mother, buying Oshimen would have been almost impossible last summer, would cost too much.

Jamdav & is over simplification, amortisation.

Doesn't work like that.

The issue with Barca was cost on books and not the cash.

These transfers are almost always paid in installments per year anyway and nothing to suggest Lewa would have cost less in cash per season and then have to factor in his replacement after that which would not need if younger striker was a succcess.

Well, no shit. But what we can pay in installments depends on our cash flow and not on some amortization value in the books.

Really depends what kind of conditions Napoli would have given us (arguably not good ones).

It wouldnt have been.

You dont have a clue as per usual.

100m for Oshimen was no more expensive on books than what paid for Lewa.

The restrictions on the books and FFP was what hampered Barca not cash and the cash situation would not have been any worse either.

Stop trying to sound like you have a clue.

From you who doesnt have a single clue.

Sensational.

Says the 40+ year old man that has made nothing of his life.

Thank good you read & understand that 1+1/2=0.

In the real world, it's not that simple.

But in a world where we had plenty of money & could sign whoever we wanted, it probably is.
