The fact we managed to recoup biggest part of our investment is a miracle. Well done!
Smells fishy. I think the club took some precautions in the backstage in case he doesn't adapt. Stuff that happened after he flopped here is dubiously kind to our investment.

This lad couldn't score with Bonnie Blue. If he fell out of a boat, he would miss the water.

Name the person who made this sale and I will change my nickname to his name for a month in honour of such wizardry.

It's almost as if the club signed him for something like 5-8m all along. And this is just a marketing playact to get his name around as this big thing.

Finding it hard to believe. What could Palmeiras possibly be smoking to pay almost what we paid for a guy we don't want a year later.

If true, incredible business. We should be able to hopefully sign a striker this summer.

Nothing fishy about this.

Palmeiras have a shitload of money and are a powerhouse there. He was a very good striker in Brazil. They need a striker and are getting one who did well for a poor team so they're banking on getting him to do even better for them, and being based in Brazil it's not like they can pick up any striker in the world either.

Maybe he turns out like Gabigol for them who was beyond awful in Europe, but have been one of the best strikers there for a long time. Inter signed him for 25m and then sold him back a few years later to Brazil for 18m or so.

Transfer = 30 mln
Salary of 6 months = 2 mln gross

Sell - 25 mln

32 mln - 25 = 7 mln

Right now we lost on this transfer 7 mln
That's not how it works. Roque signed an 8 year long contract with Barca in summer 2023. Since the fee was 30m, his amortization is 3.75m per year. He was 1.5 years in Spain, meaning his book value today is around 25m after 1,5 years. If Barca sells him for 25m, he's a 0€ asset. There is no loss in the books, which is important for the ffp.
Further, Barca can hope to get some future money for him, as they keep 20% of his rights. Meaning most likely he'll be a profit in the books. It's the best the club can hope for right now.
He's simply not good enough for Barca, never will be most likely. The scout who suggested to pay 30m for him should be fired obviously, but Barca doesn't make any loss in the books, which is the most important thing here.
