I wouldn't trust the guardian on this story. they've had quite a noted anti-united stance of recent years.

Don't shoot me, but IF he wants to leave Utd I say: sign him. He is a quality player who is prepared to work for the team in every possible way and he'll pick up his form again rather sooner then later. Rooney could offer more physical presence to our attack. I'd really like to see it happen.

to be honest, no.

he's a great player, but he's barely coherent in english. you bring him to barca with the catalan/castellano issue and good god it just makes for a mess. plus he's just so very english, I can't see him performing outside of his homeland. plus I doubt colleen would move with him (yes he did lay with whores while she was pregnant, corb) coz she seems to be rather attached to her parents. and then of course he doesn't really fit a 433 unless you play him wide where he would just be like a younger less dashing david villa - so what's the point.

plus, while he isn't fat now, he's short and stocky and a drinker and a (casual) smoker. like ricky hatton in his down-time he doesn't take care of himself in any way, shape or form - which as he ages will become harder and harder to recover from. unless he makes lifestyle changes his body will go to hell in his late 20's/early 30's and his career will drop right off. maybe. I dunno.
