Argentina only have themselves to blame. Peru look the better side these first twenty minutes. And the referee was stationary when the ball hit him, he didn't move toward the path of the ball, Messi passed it towards him. Besides, that didn't have any direct connection with the goal.

I realise it wasn't deliberate but when they score as a result of a breakaway it has everything to do with it. Well worked free kick though.

Come to think of it, the foul for the free kick that lead to the goal wouldnt have happened if the ref hadnt blocked Leo's through ball.

In the ref's defense, although I probably need a replay to confirm this, he wasn't moving towards the path of the ball. IIRC, Messi passed it towards him and he was too slow to get out of the way.
